playing with dramatic elements, pt2

Pick a game. By discussing its formal elements, how does the game keep its players (the lone player/team if vs system, or all sides if multiplayer) from quitting in frustration or falling asleep with boredom? (example: how does DotA make sure that both teams still have a motive to see the game through to the end even if one side has a huge advantage over the other?)

  1. Best example for this are visual novel games, the very recent one that I've caught up to was "hakouki: memories of a shinsegumi" it is a game where you play as a girl named chizuru to find your father in kyoto, but during your stay murders happen and somehow affects your search. Since the game is visual novel it only contains readings and looking at things, it is only one player, objective is to find your father but also falling in love with a hunky dude in the process, but to get there, you are only given choices in the form of text and you can only do stuff within the choices that you are given and these choices act as your resources, it is a zero sum game but there are a lot of ways to win, if you do get the bad choices, that game will tell you that you are dead and can restart from the previous save the way to win is to get the normal ending or end up with romancing with one of the handsome men! the conflict starts if you know everyone that's a love interest, you'll be asking yourself which men to romance because all of them have interesting personalities, which comes to this games playability, yes this is a reading game and reading is tedious thankfully it has voice acting but it's in japanese so you'll still have to read. Within the walls of text that you'd be reading it is infact interesting! the reason why these types of games have players keep playing them or rather "reading them" is because of the theme and the setting is enough to keep them intrigued to continue the story. The only way that players will eventually stop playing this game is when they're tired of reading, as long as the story becomes more interesting boredom will not become an issue.

  2. Allow me to crop up with the Limbo game once more.

Speaking of which, the very fabric of the story keeps the player from boredom attacks. Compelling. Alluring. Intriguing. I suspect that the discerning, (until the player figures out his feat to the end) is fun and threat as well -which games are basically made up of. Absolute concentration, most essentially. Forasmuch as the player get wise to keep going, and never return from the very beginning, the premise averts from being dull. Paths are too short though. However, the time consumed from thinking and thinking might took so long to finish the game. Secondly, the character is in harmony with the mood. He's just a kid. Notice him, alone in the dark, dealing with stumbling blocks cause the story to be more emotive and mysterious. It's interesting that he can do beyond his little power to act -feel like you're in control because you're clearly not in control. Lastly, the sounds and visuals that suits one another. I love its being silent. Those secrets that are still uncovered builds an eye-opener. It carries the atmosphere to a constant one -increasing its point of excitement. Graphics are captivating, like an actual experience for every scene has a good ambiance. Classical. Black and white, specifically. Scenes might be monotonous. But they're the intense factor of the game. Full of dramatic elements, actually.

  3. Dramatic Elements 2.0

Once again, I pick the game of Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2.

It’s about winning against other countries by building structures, super weapons, battle labs, and etc. with the use of ore.

Story- The story of the game is about conquering. You just have to pick on what side you are on. It’s either America or Russia.

Characters- There are characters involved in the game. In America, we have Tanya. A skilled woman in combat and had the ability to plant bombs and has a long shooting range. Meanwhile on Russia, the main character will be Yuri. A man who can control anything. Basically anything including the war tanks.

Music and Sounds- The music and sounds used is very appropriate to the “situation” of the game. It’s war-themed so it can hype you whenever you are playing. The best part of it, there is a woman who announces everything for you like “Building”, “Cannot deploy here.”, “Unable to comply building in progress” and so much more which made the game more exciting to play with especially on the part when the announcer says “Warning”, you can really be in panic with just that. Therefore, it made the players more determined and therefore, the gamers will not be bored while playing it.

Challenge/Fun- The game itself is a challenge for me because you have to command your forces in order to conquer the game. The main conflict would be the enemy country. Maybe because the enemy might have stronger forces than you, more advanced technology, higher ranks of G.I’s and so much more. So, you have to compete with it by attacking every now and then but you also have to make sure that your base is completely secured.
But don’t let it bother you because inside the game, there are crates. Crates that which if you hover your force right through it, you can get instant prizes such as money, a new and stronger tank of war, or another home base. So, there is no reason to be frustrated in the game.

Skills- I guess your strategic skills will be put to test in the game. Strategies on how you would defeat the enemy.

Since the game is about conquering, you as the gamer will feel in total control of the game but really, you are not in control. It made the game more intense.

For me, this is a fun game because whenever I play it, I put my whole concentration to it. I have no sense of what time I started playing or what time I will take for me to play it.

  4. Plants vs. Zombies

Every stage, the game introduced different type of plants and different type of zombies that the player will encounter? and it will prevent the player from getting bored easily, plus this game have a second version. It will not also make a player quit from frustration because this game is kind of strategy game. You will think first before planting any plant you want. When I played this game I plant sunflower first and the next was the plant with the least sun to regenerate until I get enough sun and plant the extreme ones.

  5. In this I would pick the game Dark Souls. It's a pretty hard game for new players at the first time they try it. I

Story: the story is about the player because the player takes up the role of hero in this game. The player has to cross wide range of lands, mountain peaks, and others, fight off different monsters, boss monsters. The player has to reach the final boss in the game which is "Gwyn". After defeating Gwyn, the player has the choice to sacrifice himself/herself to restore balance or to become "lord of the dark" and rule over the dark age of the world.

Characters: Player. As I said before the player takes the role of the protagonist. he or she will have to create their own character.

Music and Sounds: The music are very different in each world and it also plays a vital role in letting players know that there are enemies within the map. The sounds are mostly ripped skin sounds, blades clashing with one another, burning fire, dragon sounds and a lot of other medieval sound effects.

Challenge: This game has challenge written all over it. I mean, this game is challenge and is just screaming challenge (not over exaggerating). In this game, your skills, wits, knowledge, and patience will be tested to the brink. I mean, save spots only come when you least expect it, no pause button(as far as I can remember), you can only check your inventory. And may I mention the horrendously huge and idiotically strong monsters that you come across. This game will break you in half until you learn what the right thing to do and where you should properly go. this game repetitively kills you over and over again just to remind you how stupid you are by not noticing that small passage way you should have gone through before you even had to get killed dozens of times by that huge monster in front of you. It's fun because it's a game of its own kind, not much games are like this, yes it breaks you, lets you cry in tears (not really), and have you breaking your keyboard because of the frustration but, that is the fun, the whole challenge is the fun. because in the back of your minds, you'll know that you survived through everything and finished the whole game, making you an exemplary game of your own right.

skills: wits, knowledge, strategy, patience, and many others. As I clearly exaggerated earlier, this game is by far challenging (and it actually has a sequel now, to be released this year). this game takes you to your limits and you need everything you have in order to finish it.

My game of choice & review would have to be Team Fortress 2 once again.
This is my choice for it's mechanics and strong Formal elements.

TF2 has both single player (training grounds) and multiplayer (online server)
I believe TF2 keeps players playing for long periods of time for a few reasons, on being the vigorous amount of maps and servers to join. Another thing that players go for are achievements, there are those who play to gain achievements which are usually done through a number of skilled acts of attack, defense and participation. Players on the server usually home their skills and attention to achieve these specific achievements. Moving on from that, and in which is what makes TF2 most addictive game is the items you either earn or find around the game which you can used (normally as an accessory to your character or as a special weapon).
I personally have experience losing streaks but still remains eager to continue for the possibilities of new stuff.
And that would be the key word, Possibilities/ chance, we continue playing despite numerous take downs and loses for the possibilities of doing something different or new in the next round (which is possible to do). With the array of weapons and different strategies and categories of maps to go through, the skies the limit and the challenge is always there to keep us going no matter what the cost is.

  7. Gods eater burst.

The first time I saw the game, I got hooked because of the graphics. Sometimes I get frustrated because some of the monsters are pretty strong for your character. The best part of the game for me is creating your own character and encountering different monsters, and one of the reason that I keep playing this game is the story line because it has an interesting story.

  8. DoTA 2 via Steam

the only motivation to continue playing the game is to avoid being low priority (quitters, got disconnected and not comming back), low priority means that the player will have to wait longer during match making, be matched with other low priority players( these players can also quit during the game or got disconnected and will not come back) but the most annoying part of being low priority is that you cannot receive battle points(experience) and chance to win in game equipment.

  9. I would pick Pokemon: Leaf Green, one of the first Pokemon versions ever released. Players won't be bored in playing this game since the main objective of it is to catch all the pokemon, defeat each gym leaders in every region and lastly, the most important part of the game, which is to beat the "Elite Four" and your toughest rival, Gary. This will be very challenging of course, because in every region, there are different types of pokemon (rock, fire, water, ghost, etc.) that you will encounter along the way and it becomes difficult from time to time since their levels are also increasing. With that, expect that your strategic skills will be put into test for you will decide on how you can defeat each of them and also the different trainers inside the gym. The players will also get motivated to finish the game for they will be curious on how is it to be the best pokemon trainer in their town, and how to beat the Elite Four. In addition, the Pokedex will also guide the players of this game to know if they still have to catch more pokemon or not, and to be informed of the various locations of the pokemon they wish to get or catch, resulting into more playing time and of course, fun and enjoyment.

  10. Rune Factory 4, it's farm game like harvest moon, but has some action RPG elements like fighting monsters and such.

I think what makes the player 'keep' playing is not the story, the story was somewhat very typical, and isn't really that intriguing. I can't say for sure that it's the music either, because they're simple, in your home you get a tranquil soundtrack to make you feel at ease, in the field you get an adventurous soundtrack, and in a boss battle you get a deep slow beat just telling you how big the boss is. What I think makes the player grind through the years of Rune Factory is the characters, because of it's marriage thing, you pick a boy or a girl, you can get married to most of the NPCs depending on your gender. And of course if you get infatuated with a 2D girl/guy you can just do what you want, give him/her presents, talk to him/her, because the game won't let you fail, but of course, before you have the games blessing, you must reach a certain level of intimacy, and that takes really long. So, because of that, the player won't stop until he/she gets her/him.

And for the sheepish guys, there are a vast amount of items to collect, and trophies to gain.

  11. Witcher 2: Assassins of the Kings
This game boasts superb quality graphics and and a non linear story choices. Every nook and cranny are well designed the brought to life would surely get the attention of any gamer. The NPC’s has their own conversations that you can listen to, making the world of Temeria as interactive as ever. Every quest has a twist and the moral choices forcing the gamer to play in a moral dilemma. Every choice has an effect on the game world and the future, making it exciting as you won’t expect what would happen next. The combat is strategic and very challenging so it keeps the player at their toes. Hack and slash players will think twice because at this game; combat preparation is the core of the battles. Potions should be drank BEFORE each battles. Items are crafted from dead monsters giving the player unique weapon and armor choices. The game has 12 different endings depending on the players decisions.

  12. Dramatic Elements 2

I'd pick SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV: ARCADE EDITION 2012 on the arcade systems. One of the longest running franchise of games today. The game franchise that innovated on the fighting game genre and brought it to a whole new level - back with a whooping 39 character choice (with classic characters - Ryu, Ken, Chun-li; additions like Yun, Yang, Ibuki (from the Street Fighter III series); and new characters from Street Fighter IV like C.Viper, El Fuerte, and Seth back to name a few). A lot of character choices = a lot of possiblities = more gameplay value. As with the previous series' objective, you need to beat your opponent by reducing his/her life value to zero. A match usually is a best of 3 or 5.

I personally prefer Street Fighter over Tekken because of how technical it can be. Meaning, there is a lot of factors that can lead to a victory or defeat which I would be talking about later. I'm not saying Tekken is a bad game, I'm just not really down with the button mashing aspect of the game a lot of people get accustomed to, it just seems pointless to me.

Now back to my point of SSFIV being technical, it currently has in the battle system - normal attacks, EX attacks, 1 super combo, the all new focus attack system, and also new - a choice between 2 Ultra combos for each character (not including the Red focus attack and Ultra combo double on the upcoming Ultra Street Fighter IV). It’s exciting for the FGC (fighting game community) and myself that more and more additions to the battle system have been added, further giving the game more depth and longevity. In a usual game situation you need to consider meter management – building it up, when to use EX attacks, or just conserve it for a super; whether to focus attack on enemy attacks or to block or to jump; when to unleash your Ultra combos. Seems like a lot huh? Well yes, it’s the reason the game becomes LESS BORING, FUN, COMPETITIVE, and SKILL-ORIENTED at the same time.

The reason that the game prevents its players from getting bored is because of how fun the game is overall. The game is done really well – the visuals/graphics are top notch, 3D graphics in a 2D environment , and gotta love that ink splatter effect they’ve added – complements the theme of fighting as an art; the music brings that nostalgia back from the Street Fighter II days; and I’ve already talked about how good the gameplay is. C’mon its Street Fighter we’re talking about here! There’s nothing like the feeling of kicking someone’s ass and getting the victory. The frustration factor in any good game, I believe is always present. When you lose to an opponent it can be frustrating, yes, but it makes it even more rewarding when you finally get the win over someone. The competitive nature of the game always reels in people to play the game no matter what, whether if the opponent plays better or not. It’s the constant challenge that’s present. I personally prefer to play against people who I believe plays better than I am because it opens a great opportunity for me to improve my skills, to spot where I lack in terms of strategy, or to ultimately prove that I’m better at playing than them.

  14. WWE 14'

Two months ago, I bought this game to know about the history of the WWE. There is a new mode called "30 years of Wrestlemania", this mode is about history of wrestlemania and defeating the streak of "The Undertaker". I had a problem about defeating the streak mode against "The Undertaker". The game was just normal and match is a no disqualification match on which you can do anything to hurt him such as hitting him through weapon, but the problem is I can't defeat the streak because my opponent, The Undertaker, in really pain in the ass. His abilities have strong counter attacks like when I'm going to jump through him ,he's going to counter it by his finisher called "Tombstone" and everytime I pinned him, he always kicked off in two counts. I found this game THE MOST FRUSTRATING MODE EVER!!

The changes of this is that I want to make the mode into a softer (but not that soft, it's like I want to change the mode into "hard" instead of "expert" mode) so that I might have a 50% chance to defeat The Undertaker just to unlock all the legends who been in wrestlemania in the past

  15. I pick Harvest Moon because for me, the object of this game is to relive the farm of the protagonist. You will see that this game contains some realistic factors like the being friends with the villagers, raising farm animals, build some equipment and tools for the farm, and managing time as much as possible. In the first part of the game you only need to plant seed (a not so difficult task) but, you need to spend your time wisely and make extra income to invest on your farm then, second after you plant seeds you will need to learn to raise chicken and cows. You will need to build chicken coop, and milking room for them, you will need to ask one of the villagers to build it for you. So as you can see it continue from easy to difficult task. From planting seeds to raising your animals to be friend with the villagers to making your own family. This game gives some "serious fun" feeling for completing the game.

Even the first time I played it until now, it gives satisfaction and fun because of its quaint challenge. 17. FIFA 14

For football fans, I would recommend this game.

If a frenetic arcade experience is your bag then this is not the game for you. FIFA 14 is a deliberate and calculating football sim that punishes mistakes and rewards brilliance whenever it can be mustered.

With all the physics improvements, this probably the most realistic version of the game yet, but I think it is not quite as fun as the last couple of years, which I think had a better mix of arcade fun and realism. It's not a perfect football game, but it’s much closer to one than most of its predecessors and most of its rivals.

Carreer mode offers a comprehensive insight into the life of a manager and a player. In spite of more complicated modes, local multiplayer is still the biggest highlight of FIFA. Going head-to-head with one of your mates is vital, exciting and occasionally heart-breaking. These stands out as an addictive and rewarding feature.

  18. DJMAX Portable

This is a rhythm game. At first when you play the game, there are 45 songs unlocked as default. So as you progress, the more the songs you unlock, and the more the modes of the same song are unlocked (4 keys,5 keys, 6 keys, 8 keys). This makes it more challenging since you have to play the song and pass. There are also extras like photos that you can get after playing specific songs at specific levels, MVs as well. There is also a game mode that introduces challenges such as max combos, no miss/breaks, accuracy, etc. You have to meet their requirements to complete the challenge. This game also allows battles/multiplayer mode with other DJMax players. This game has several modes to choose from such as 4 KEYS, 5KEYS, 6KEYS, 8KEYS, FREESTYLE and CHALLENGE.

You can do so much with this game, I highly recommend this game especially for rhythm game enthusiasts like me.

Though there isn't much to be explained about sports games, skate 3 is really like one of those games where you can see the possibilities in skateboarding because it's much more closer to the real thing with the bail hall of meat system where you can see the bones that were broken during your crash. now players wouldn't quit out of frustration because the games offer different game modes and challenges inside the map. because of this wide variety of modes, players can switch from nailing sick tricks from ramps to rails to bailing from 100 ft cliffs

  20. I pick Pokemon X & Y! I think no one can be bored while playing this game because there are a lot of things to accomplish (like completing the pokedex, defeating the elite four, capturing the legendary pokemons) The graphics really improved, because it's in 3D (and you can finally sit on chairs yay) And the animation is really smooth, the character's and the pokemon's moves aren't limited anymore. Plus, you can change your appearance! Buy new clothes, dye or style your hair etc. The sounds are awesome too, since they stayed with the classic pokemon sound effects (like the music inside the pokemon center, but they added a bit of effects which makes it cooler) What's even more awesome is that you can wirelessly battle with other players nearby. Raising a pokemon is easier too, because the experience share isn't only limited to 2 pokemons, it can be used by the whole team. You can level up and defeat others easily.

  21. Fruit Ninja has different modes you can choose to play. One is the classic mode, wherein the goal is to slice as many fruits as you can to beat the current high score without hitting any bombs or consuming all 3 lives. In the zen mode, there are no bombs and no lives, but there is a time limit of 90 seconds. There is also an Arcade mode in which players have only sixty seconds to achieve a high score. There are bombs, but hitting them will only deduct 10 points from your score and not end the game. I believe what makes Fruit Ninja exciting is the fact that you are challenged to slice as many fruits at one time to make extra points to be added to your score. The Classic mode is definitely not boring because you should pay close attention to the fruits flying so you can slice all of them and to the bombs or else you'll slice them or miss 3 fruits and end the game. The Arcade mode is exciting because there are many freebies such as Frenzy, Double Points, and Freeze---all of which can add more points to your score. The game won't leave you frustrated (the Classic mode) because if you missed two fruits, you still have a chance to go on playing because if you reach scores that are multiples of one hundred (i.e. 100, 200, 300, etc.), you will gain an extra life (unless you have not missed a piece of fruit already). The Arcade mode won't leave you frustrated because the game won't end if you slice the bomb; only points will be deducted from your score. The Zen mode won't leave you frustrated because, while there is a time limit, there are no bombs, so you can slice as many fruits as you can with no worries of bombs. In both Arcade and Zen modes, it's okay if you missed a number of fruits because the game only ends when the time is up. Also what makes it not boring is that, in all the modes, you can can unlock new blades and backgrounds which you can choose from and use whenever you play a new game, so you are driven all the more to play again and again so you can unlock new blades and backgrounds and/or beat the current high score.

  22. Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS. Full Boost

Is an arcade fighting game that was released in Japan in 2012 and now, will arrive to the PS3 on January 30, 2014. Another game based on the Gundam series, now with cinema-like CGI graphics and with 90 playable units for the arcade and an additional 20 exclusive for the PS3 release. This fast paced fighting will not bore you because you’ll be too busy dodging enemy beams or missiles that are locked on to you or running from those pesky funnels that are chasing you or just plainly trying to get away from a giant Psycho Gundam that is trying to squish you like a bug. This game allows you to pilot your favorite mobile suits from your favorite Gundam series and that alone is quite exciting not to mention you can fight with the said mobile suit and re-enact some of your favorite battles from the show. This game is quite fun to play and would not bore you as it keeps your blood boiling from the action. The difficulty of this game would depend on the players skill, if you’re a beginner chances are you’ll be shot down in a matter of minutes if you’re against a more experienced player or the CPU.

  23. I would choose the Kinect games sports. The game is just about the player(s) making their way to be the champion in different field of sports like track and field, bowling, table tennis, boxing, beach volleyball, and soccer. The types of characters in this game would be the competitor and the achiever, because in playing Kinect games sports, you would have to compete with a system or another player and must achieve the higher score and beat the opponent. The choice of music or sound was very suitable and great. It just fits the mood of the game, for example, the player had made a great move and “We are the Champion” song will play right away which may be a form of motivation for the player in a way. The graphics are not bad and were detailed but it was clean, colorful and it looks good, making it more fun to play. The challenge is all about physical movements, your flexibility and strength in throwing objects and also on how fast your mind picks-up to be able to catch a ball. I can’t be lazy with this and sit all day; I have to be active physically so it wouldn’t be a boring game. It’s really fun watching friends/family when it’s their turn playing. All in all Kinect games, Sports was really great, multiple people could be in it and play together and it is good for people of all ages.

  24. Suikoden II

Easily one of the best PS1 games ever. The game didn't have a linear and simple storyline. The output of the game depends on the choices you make while playing it. Like, you know. You could kill your NPC-bestfriend and cry for days by just choosing a wrong answer (t'was devastating, by the way). One of the things that made the game interesting was the characters. You could recruit a lot of characters in the game! I remember having a castle filled with different people I met in random places. Not just that, just like Final Fantasy games, it had, like, different mini game as well. There's a lot of things that made this game very interesting. Sorry if I wasn't able to put them all here 'cause I'm trying to find a decent copy of it on the internet right now so I could play it again.

  25. 2.0

Once again, I pick The Testament of Sherlock Holmes. What compels the players to finish the game? The CHALLENGE. Yes, it could be frustrating because you need to examine the whole room and some of the mini games are really tricky, but you'll still want to finish it. The need to know if your hunch of who the criminal is, how the crime happened and the glory of finishing the case keeps you going. You might let go of the game for a while but you'll want to come back for your "unfinished business", after all a lot of gamers don't want to have "the one that got away", the games they were unable to defeat.

Besides the challenge, the story keeps you holding on to your unit. The need to practice your "detective" skills and know who the criminal is keeps you, because you seriously don't have any idea of who did it. You'll only know at the end of the story if the one who you thought the criminal is is really the criminal. I say the art style is very good for this sort of game. Its not the "pretty" sort, but its perfect for the game. The music is not that bad, though there might come a time when you completely ignore it because you already heard it at some point of the game and it sort of decrease your appetite for the game because its boring.

Over all, I don't believe that players, especially those who likes this sort of genre in a game, would feel bored. In fact, they would be more challenge and motivated to finish it.

  26. Ragnarok Online

Its the best way to kill time because you can do lots of things in this game. Within the cities and towns, there are many activities that players can participate in. In addition, every town will have the usual stores and shops where players can purchase and sell their items. Next are the "Jobs", one of the most important aspects of Ragnarok Online. A player's choice of job will determine his or her strengths and weaknesses and all players start as a "novice". After leveling up there is a certain level needed to get the quest for your chosen "Job". When you get stronger there is still many things to do like Boss hunting, PVP with other players and sell stuffs. The only way to stop a player to play this game is when they are scammed or someone hacked their account. As long as the admin of this game can protect every account and items of their players, everyone will enjoy the game.

  27. Persona 3 Portable: P3P

Persona 3 Portable is a simulation and role-playing game. Persona 3 begins with the protagonist returning to the city of Tatsumi Port Island ten years after her parents died from an accident. She is introduced as a transfer student that has just moved into the Iwatodai Dorm. She is quickly brought into SEES, (Special Extracurricular Execution Squad) when her awareness of the Dark Hour is revealed, and that she can summon multiple Personas into battle. With their help, SEES is able to explore Tartarus further and defeat Greater Shadows that appear every full moon, believing that by killing all twelve of them, they will be able to end the appearance of the Dark Hour. The game's story and plot is actually enough for me to keep playing it. If you play Persona, you kind of want to know what happens at the end: will you get a good or a bad ending? In the end, it is actually up to you (the player) which ending to choose. Also, in every expedition to the Tartarus, there is a map at the lower left corner wherein you can detect if there's a shadow which could help the player a lot more in finishing the game. Also, the game asks the player how difficult would you want the game to be: beginner, easy, normal, hard, maniac. I finished this game and have tried both endings and I am happy and contented with how the makers ended it. Maybe, people stop playing Persona when they don't actually like its genre or is not just into this type of game. Because to people who like fighting and action games, this might be a bit boring for them since this is more on the use of strategy and stuffs. Hue.

  29. I'll pick the game that looks like its for a child "candy crush" damn. I think everyone now plays candy crush. A grade school level plays it because like i said its colorful and when you see it you'll never think that your parents plays it too. Because at the start of the game its so easy but the farther the level you got its getting harder so you need a strategy to do it. Its like a chance game, when you play it like a fool you'll just waste your energy and you'll need to recharge it or ask someone to give you an energy for the game. In the game sometimes youre already lucky even you dont get it to the highest score because i really mean the farther you get the harder it gets. So better take candy crush seriously or you will be stuck like me

For me the game never bores you because its colorful and the sound of a game will consume you and also the game itself. You know why? Because its like chess you need to think or have an strategy to checkmate your enemy in game 5 same candies is the best.

  30. Let's choose any RPG game. Let's say Dragon Age II.

It's a given fact that items and equipment deal a lot of advantage to the player and gives him/her an advantage in the game.

As the game progresses with difficulties, so does the items to spice it up. It's a never ending loop. One moment you realize your sword/gun/bow/staff/club/mace/lightsaber can't handle this certain creature so you have to save up money or find loot among lesser opponents to have a stronger sword. And the feeling of working hard for an upgrade and acquiring it to beat the f*ck out of the enemies is priceless.

It's a never ending cycle of improving yourself. Whoa that's just life. I guess video games really does teach me good lessons and shit.

  31. Skyrim “The Elder Scroll V”

Every game must have a level or improving a Character, Strategy, Skills, etc. In this game you need to be like an outcast and you need to be wise and have the survival instinct to achieve goals, pickpocket, steal goods, recipes and more. The most thrilling part is when you are weak and then you will battle an enemy which is 2 or 3 than your level if it is the boss but sometimes the weaker ones became the stronger ones when you have a low of health you need to be careful of that and to lessen the kinda problem you need to be a good wanderer in this game so that no bounty will place on your head to be hunt on, and you really need to improve your skills on the weapon, improving your craftsman skills to create a rare item, improving your stealth so that you can get the rare recipes for your items and more skill you’ll need to be stronger and stronger. Me as well I’m had been addicted on that game sequence over and over, may only opponent is I haven’t a gadget to continue my game like but it keeps my thinking or being wise not just in the game but outside the, because there is a puzzle in this game that you should solve by yourselves not searching in the damn internet to get it right away that’s weak stuff to do not letting yourselves to excel leaning on the guides, codes, cheats, power ups and also the walkthrough the it shouldn’t be release so that the players will have their on way to solve it and f you can’t solve it and then giving it up your are weak if you give up. This is my way of thinking when I’m playing RPG.

  32. Twisted Metal

It’s a combat video game, but your character here is you’re a car. But these aren't just a car, cars with guns, bombs, missiles, and powers. And you’ll going to need this to defeat your enemies by shooting them of course. But these are limited, and you have to earn it first by collecting it somewhere.

This is one of my favorite video game. It never gets me bored or frustrate, instead it challenge me and I enjoy it. The graphics were not much good, but the sound effects can bring you with the thrill, you enjoy the sound of the explosion whenever you’re shooting missiles with the enemy. But I heard that there’s new version of this game, more characters, better graphics etch.

In the story mode, you’ll be fighting with lots of opponents, and in different places every stage. And you’ll see the story of the character you've used at the end. But for me, the best game mode here, is playing with your friends, you’ll fight each ones. And I swear you’ll never get bored. I've played this many times with my cousins and we’re really making noises while playing. Lunch time will be the only reason to make us stop from playing.

  33. “Second Reproduction”

A visual novel game where you can only answer and click in your chosen answers. Read along the flow of the story while boosting the love level of your chosen guy character to fall in love with. This game consists of different side story where demons and humans fight but in the battle form lead by different empires. And here the story plot goes, your main character of this game is a young princess of a human empire with a status of “Champion” who had countless battle victories upon her shoulders and was feared by the Demon race.

Having a visual novel style of game you can only flow in the story of the game, where you answer questions in the game and read the story as it goes on. The only different part of this game is having a task to complete by the characters in the game that helps you in winning the heart of your chosen guy. The lonely part of this is having only three choices of guy character in this your knight, assistant of the demon king and of course, the Demon king. But at the same time, playing this game is worth it because having a love story with different handsome looking guys with different personalities and side stories are enjoyable. Even though, you will only click the answer in the choices. The enjoyable part also of this game is saving the CGs or screenshots of the visuals of this game. I could tell that it is not boring because of the voice over of the characters in Japanese languages. After finishing the game you would accomplish a certain ending depending in your performance answering and finishing the task. It’s a bit frustrating having a bad ending but at the same time this urges you to play again the game and achieve the good ending.

  34. Just Dance 3 (X360 Kinect)

Just Dance 3 hits a sweet spot between making you actually feel like you're dancing, but also never being too serious or judgemental. In addition to single and two-player modes, which work great, Just Dance 3 also offers up to 4-player simultaneous gameplay. This is a first for Kinect and exceeds what many folks thought possible, but it also shows why it hasn't happened before. The motion tracking for 4 players is pretty inconsistent and, frankly, good luck finding a big enough space to actually fit four people clearly in front of Kinect where you aren't smacking each other in the face. The sound is, as expected from a music / dancing game, great. You can choose in a wide range of genres and tastes that you can enjoy. The dance routines are fun and not super serious. Doing silly moves, along with lots of hand waving and hip shaking is the name of the game here. The challenge is, if you can't dance/ follow the game, you were not be able to gain points. The scoring in the game almost seems like an afterthought. You just dance along as best you can, enjoy the music, and have fun.You just keep dancing. You do earn points that let you "level up", which unlocks new playlists and dances based on your performance, but getting decent scores even on your first time through a song isn't all that difficult.

  35. Harvest Moon : friends of mineral town

Just like any of the Harvest moon series, it's gameplay is very simple. Plant crops to make money, collect things to make money. Then when you have enough money you can buy cows and all that stuff.

What makes it sooo popular is that it's a highly enjoyable game. Since there's little to no complications, there's no such thing as losing in that game. Thus you can make it go as you please (have control). And there are factors that makes you want to play all the time. Like Harvesting a specific amount of crops to unlock something. Or going down the mine to get the teleport stone.

And just like any other game there are factors that can't be controlled like, storms or if any of the animals die and stuff. Which makes the player frustrated enough to fix everything back the way he/she planned it.

What is also fun is it's outcome, once the player gets married in the game they'll have a child and the gender is always a surprise and there is a very small chance of twins. so that's interesting. Also, when unlocking the cursed and blessed tools. it takes a lot of time but it's worth it. i guess.

  36. "Respawnables"

When it’s time to wage virtual warfare, proper foot soldiers are essential. They don’t need to be highly skilled. They don’t need the latest in military technology. It doesn’t matter if they’re battle-hardened or if they have an affinity for firearms. All that matters is that they’re respawnable. The simpler the better.

It impressive that title as simple as Respawnables can paint such a vivid picture of a game’s nature. Anyone who’s even vaguely familiar with third or first-person shooters is familiar with the concept of respawning: a player’s character gets “killed,” and they come back a few seconds later to continue the fight. This isn’t just what Respawnables is about, it’s what it is. A player’s character spawns in a map, The maps are so colourful, it'll make you aggressive and passionate so, they do their best to shoot up everything that moves to score more points than everyone else, then a winner is declared after a set time limit. No boredomeness, no frustration. Simply playing earns experience towards gaining levels, and each new level unlocks a few things such as new skill upgrades (more health, etc) or costume items with various effects. The game is just simply addictive.

  37. The game of my choice would be Metal Slug 6.
The game is extremely addictive and fun despite being an arcade coin sink of a game and of course the home console version will save you a lot of coins spent obviously.

Story: The story simply involves the Rebel Army and their Martian alliance being under threat from the Venusians and they seek help from you despite being their enemies from before.

Characters: Marco and Tarma of PF Squad, Fio and Eri of S.P.A.R.R.O.W.S., Guest characters Clark and Ralf from King of Fighters for the playable characters. General Morden and his army along with the Martian forces. The Venusians as the central opposing force of the game. Each playable character plays differently and has their own quirks like Ralf for example has half the ammunition count on weapons he gets but has the ability to revive himself after getting shot and can vulcan punch things down to oblivion including enemy tanks. The players can choose from the six playable characters but players cannot use the same character at the same time.

Music and Sounds: Obviously, several of the tracks have been recycled and some have been remixed but none the less still nice to hear for some nostalgia. Picking up weapon power ups will make the announcer speak in a somehow over the top which tends to be funny due how the announcer says the weapon names. Most of the sound effects fit nicely from the standard explosions to some flesh getting sliced.

Challenge and Fun: Several of the formula from the previous games is still reused up to this installment such as a long linear path which includes easy to kill enemies then suddenly at the end more enemies appear than the usual along with a reinforcement of strong and hard to kill enemies. The game includes simple pitfall patterns yet it can actually screw the player’s life stock. The player can rescue POWs and for each saved after the mission is finished is tallied to the player’s score but the catch is if the player is ever killed he/she loses all of the count of the POWs rescued up to that point voiding the score bonus. The game can pretty much center on scoring points and sometimes it becomes a competition between two players who can score more by the end of the game. Some players like me have the tendency and urge to beat my previous high score on the game. The game mostly sends out easy to kill foot soldiers but their number compensates for it and sometimes a stronger foe is along with the mix which will test the player’s reaction to the incoming attack. Avoiding getting killed becomes a priority for the player especially if the just picked up a good weapon or more grenades stock and want to save that for later enemies. The challenge can vary depending on the character the use such as Marco have his standard pistol double the strength, Fio always start with a Heavy Machinegun, Eri can throw grenades in a straight forward direction and so on.

Skills: It most of the time challenges the player’s reaction on the current situation as enemies will come in high numbers and along with a harder to take down enemies. Boss battles tends to be an endurance match for the players as the battle will go on and players tend not to notice how much coins and continues he/she actually spent on that specific boss sometimes. The game doesn’t require the player to fire rapidly with the pistols but due to how the situation goes, the player will need to button mash his fire button when using the pistol.

The game have a simple mechanics yet easy to screw up due to amount of enemies or enemy bullets on screen going for you. The game runs on the same idea as Contra except with enemies having a ridiculous concept. The game makes reference on some media and most notably Contra as whole. Both the player characters and foot soldiers have many death animations ranging from getting slashed by a knife to getting blasted to bits. The game has a humorous take for its gameplay yet with an absurd amount of violence and blood splattering all over.

  38. The Binding of Isaac / TBoI: Wrath of the Lamb Edition

A Rougelike Dungeon Crawling game created by Edmund McMillen, it tells the story of a child who is running away from his psycho-MOM. The game generates a random layout of the map with every game. Random set of items, bosses and rooms to ensure the game isn't the same.

    >Formal Elements:

    Players: 1 vs System

Objective: Reach the last floor without getting a game over, or die trying.

Procedures: shoot your tears(yes, TEARS) to kill abominations in your 'basement', collect items to get stronger (and look more horrific), and get to the last floor

Resources: Money, Bombs, Keys, Hearts, Spirit Hearts (temporary armor), Items, Active Item charge, number of rooms left, item pick-ups(pills, tarrot cards, trinkets)

    Outcome:
-Zero Sum: Reach the last floor and kill the boss, or die trying.
-Non-Zero Sum: Unlock something for the next game; get better at the game; complete challenges (personal or challenge runs)

Conflict: Almost everything trying to kill you, MOM, randomness of items, rooms and item drops, item synergy

    >Dramatic Elements:

    Flow Theory:
-Difficulty: increases per floor [the more you go, the game generates more rooms and stronger kind of enemies]
-Skill: depends on the player [increases as the player gets accustomed to the game]

    Challenge:
-Skills: Spatial Awareness, Hand-eye Coordination, Reaction time, Resource Management
-Goals: Short Term goals - kill enemies, get item, finish floor, kill boss; Long Term - Finish game / Unlock new item/character
-Paradox of Control: Almost everyone trying to kill you

    Challenge Accepted, Play!
-Chance (everything not about the player is a probability)
-Competition (Meta game: Fight against a player to see who could finish the game first/reach farthest before time limit expires [Optional: use third party softwares to make the game produce a competely controlled map])
-Vertigo (exploiting '9 lives' to get a lot of items by suicide; going against hard bosses, some of which may be detterent to your current build; going against MOM)

What keeps people from quitting/getting bored?

Unlockables: As you progress, you'll unlock more items, characters and areas.
Randomness: No 2 runs are the exactly same.
Progressive Difficulty: The game gets harder every floor.
Challenges: Use a third party software and/or Search the net/Make your own challenges where you are restiricted(do not take more than 6 items / never visit the shop / never shoot tears / etc.) or empowered(give yourself an item after every floor / start the game with a bomb attack/ unlimited active item charge/ etc.).Just for the heck of it.
Item Synergies: Some items behave in special ways when used with another item. (Before WoTL: Chocolate Milk (mega-buster style attack) + Brimstone(charge laser shot) = Rapid firing Brimstone)

The game constantly gets harder and provides items for you to get, it is up to you to use them properly or at least try to get them. Can you do it?

  39. Command & Conquer: Yuri's Revenge

Just like in other Command & Conquer series, Yuri's Revenge is the same as them. There are two campaigns in the game, the Allied and Soviet, with each following a story-line different from the other. The main goal of each campaign is to eliminate its common enemy, Yuri (The traitor from Red Alert 2) The game compasses the military strategic to conquest different missions. Each player follows different objectives to win the game but of course, as each mission is completed, the following will be much difficult. Every aspect of the gameplay is based in collecting money. Each faction (Allied and Soviet) has it's Miner tanks to gather gems or gold. The collected items will be transported to a Refinery Ore which will be converted to cash to buy structures that will help to win the game. Another part of the game is that each faction has different country allies, with each having a special unique unit. (ALLIES: USA, France, Germany, Korea x SOVIET: Russia, Libya, Cuba, Iraq)

    The game is totally awesome.

  41. "Shall we Date: My Sweet Prince"

A visual novel game that only allows you to answer questions by your chosen prince. Read the flow of the story and choose the correct answer that will ultimately give you the best outcome in the story. In this story you are on vacation but your luggage is stolen... In your pursuit of the thief he drops a bracelet. You go to the police to report your stolen luggage and return the bracelet. Upon seeing the item you are whisked away to the King. The King then tells you something unbelievable: You are to pick the next King!!!

It being a visual novel game, you can only pick from the choices given by the game and follow along the story. Every character is quite interesting as you get to choose from 6 princes and their butler. The shame to it is that you can only choose one character and the starter pack only allows you a selection of 3 characters, the other 4 characters are to be bought separately. You can choose from the haughty prince, Lambert to Intelligent Arabian Prince, Chezem to the Japanese Idol, Prince Nagit to Naughty, Prince Alvah to Sadistic Prince, Jun to Overprotective Prince Melchiorre and last but not least Strict butler, Ivan. The game also allows you to save screenshots of important events in the game and some of the characters also have voice overs that add to the excitement of the game. After you finish the , you will get a certain ending depending on the performance and answers you give your chosen prince. It's quite infuriating when you get the worst ending but nonetheless this urges you to get a better ending and play the game again and again.

I choose this game its been upgraded and now it has many features that doesn't make me bored. I don't know why but I really like this type of games. Minion Rush isn't that bored anymore because there are missions, and some challenges like you have to collect 3 apples per day to claim your reward. You also have cute little minions with their cute costumes plus each minions have their own skills so its quite fascinating . The frustrating part is if you have an low quality tablet your game is gonna suck and experiencing lagnessss . One more frustrating thing is when you max the power ups to the second of the last before its super max you have to pay real money and that really sucks.
But in the end this game is really great.

  43. Dota is a multiplayer game. Ten players is the maximum to play this game and they are split into two, five players per each team called sentinel and scourge. Each player will able to control one hero which you will pick when the game started. The main goal of this game is to destroy their opponent’s ancient which is being defended by towers per lane. There are three different lanes which is top, middle and bottom. These lanes are the paths to the ancient were the creeps are also spawning. Creeps is like a soldier which helps you to destroy the base of your opponent.
This game is exciting because you need to use different strategy to destroy the base of your opponent. In able to destroy the ancient of your opponent, you need to strengthen your hero by buying effective items. There are three different kinds of heroes which is intelligence type, strength type, and agility type. There are also different skills to used depends on what hero are you using. This game is fun because you need battle to with your opponent and create your own strategy to finish your objective.

  44. IB : a horror game

The game is an interactive puzzle game, which also contains a fair amount of jumpscares. The motive for the game is to get to the ending. The game encourages snooping around the rooms to find keys and other items that will help you get to the next room.

I think the simplistic instructions provide a certain limitation for the player in-game, so it adds to the challenge they would receive. It's especially important in the room full of poisonous gas, as one step damages the player's life by one petal. The player, since encountering Garry, can use him to be able to get past this room because he has ten petals. It's fun, since the challenge is "To find what you need and get back out of the room in ten or less steps". It makes the players think, either by trial and error or simply by winging it, to get past the room.

The Lady in Red and her variations, are the most famous enemies found in-game other than the Main Villain. Depending on their color, they could be faster or slower. The Lady in Blue is the fastest one and plays a large part when you meet Garry. Heck, if she spots you you abso-freaking-lutely need to run as fast as you can, and don't even bother locking the door because there's a WINDOW that she can crash through to get you. It's scary, but since you know about the rooms in-game, it wouldn't be a problem to escape her, unless, of course, you accidentally hit a wall and give her a chance to get to you.

The game balances horror and challenge at the same time, making it fun to play, especially if you want a great scare. Thanks to the story pieces you find in the peaceful gaps in-game, you'd get more curiosity as to what would happen in the ending to make you finish it. And because of the multiple endings, you will be curious enough to do it all over again for the sake of the achievement.

Killing Floor is a Co-Op survival horror first person shooting game this is up to 6 players depending on the server you are playing with or you can play alone. The objective of this game is survive each wave with each wave becoming harder and harder with more zombies to kill. In between waves you can buy weapons, ammo armor and perks with the money you earned by killing the zombies. So your chances of surviving are getting slimmer every other wave unless you work together or buy better weapons.

Players have different classes from healer to tanker, players are automatically revived as long as there is someone left but re-spawn with basic weapon. Competition is based on the scores and points you earned and how far you level up your character. Awareness and team play are among the skills played in this game and these are the skills you need in order to survive the longest. Most important is the concentration you can't win any game with out being focused on it. This is a game worth playing i spend hours playing this on my steam and never get tired of playing it again.

  46. Prop Hunt - Garry's Mod

Prop hunt is a PC game which is like hide and seek where in players are divided into two teams. The Hunters and The props/Hunted. This game starts off with a 30 sec set up where in if you belong to The hunters team, you will be placed in a room and the door will only open if the 30 sec mark is done. On the other hand, if you belong to the props/hunted team, in the span of 30 sec you have to hide but first you must select an object to be. After the mark, the hunters, will be allowed out of their room and off to find the hidden props. Props are allowed to move and change even if the game already started. They are given a limited time of 5 mins to search then, once the round is finish they switch and vice versa.

Once the game has already begun. The Hunters must find ALL props (that are played by humans) to win. They can use variety of weapons from guns to grenade. To know if they hit one of the opponent team (props) their health doesn't decrease BUT if they just hit a regular object their health decreases. Hunters may carry the things in order to not lost their health and not die. It can also be multiplayer which you and your friends can connect to a server and play. The only frustrating thing is that once your a Hunter you only have life and that your health cannot generate but at the same time it actually give you thrill and excitement. The game is quite fun and it can be nerve wrecking as well.

  50. ROCKBAND

A Rhythm game that goes along with Guitar Hero, 02Jam and DjMax. This is a game for those who are fond of playing Rhythm games. So in this game, you will have to make band, dress them up and go to the world tour which is like a story mode for other games ) in here you can unlock all songs and you can play them permanently in quick play during your free time. But there is also a cheat where which you can unlock all songs but it is not made to be permanent. This game has 4 modes of difficulty from easy to expert and has 7 buttons including the star power trigger. The challenge here to win is to finish the whole song by hitting most of the notes and avoiding misses to multiply your combo so when you activated your star power, your score will multiply and you'll get a high score. What made this less boring for me is because they featured here most of the bands and music I've been listening to and since I'm into Rock music this has become more interesting and stress relieving as well. So there... Peace out :)

  52. Prop Hunt
Prop Hunt is a multiplayer game that basically a game of hide and seek, the game consists of two sides, the IT and the other players, the IT are partnered or group of players (depending on the number of players) that will have to find the other players and kill them before the time runs out while the other players are given the time to hide before the game officially starts, the other players can disguise themselves as props by copying their desired prop and remain as anonymous as possible from the IT. The other players can continuously disguise themselves as long as the IT cannot spot them.
STORY: The point of the game is for the IT to find and kill the other players before the time runs out. While the other players will have to continuously hide from the IT. The IT would also loose their lives if they randomly shoot other objects.
CHARACTERS: The characters are the players themselves.
MUSIC AND SOUNDS: The only music and sound that I can hear in the game is the gunshots and the voice of the players. The music and sound backgrounds are subtle since the players would have to hear each other in the game.
CHALLENGE AND FUN: The challenge and fun in the game is that you have to find the other players if you are the IT while you have to run and hide in the game if you are on the other team, the challenge for the IT is to find the other players and not hit random objects before the timer ends while the other players must confuse, hide and distract the IT for them to end the time and win. It is more fun if you are playing with your friends or if you converse with the other players since you have to run around and you can even give them clues on where or who you are if you want to.
SKILLS: Your observation and reflex will be tested in the game since you have to chase, run, hide and sneak from you opponents.
In reality, I haven’t really played the game, but when given the chance, I would like to play it with my friends since it’s a modern game of hide and seek. Well it’s more exciting since you are disguising yourself as a prop, it’s more difficult from your opponents to find you that way!

In this game, you need to find the missing pages of Emma Reavnhearst diary to solve the mystery of her death. The basic gameplay of MCF: Ravenhearst is the same as other MCF games. The various rooms in the manor (32 in total) are cluttered with hundreds of different objects, and each room has a list of clue objects to search for that are hidden somewhere in the clutter.
Once you've found enough clues, you'll be able to use the Crime Computer to finish the level off by completing a mini-game where you have to piece together an old photograph to receive a missing diary page. You can use up to five hints per round that will not go as far as to reveal the item point blank, but rather will show a glowing circle around the area that the item is in to draw your attention there. 55. Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos

Warcraft III is a real-time strategy game. Warcraft III shed many of its role-playing pretensions and became what by all means is a true sequel to its predecessor. The game relies on many of the real-time strategy conventions you're probably familiar with by now. The goal of a typical skirmish is to start gathering resources (gold and wood), build up a base, build up a force of various units, and use that force to destroy the enemy's base and to repel any attacks against your position. You control the action primarily with a mouse by clicking on individual units and buildings or dragging boxes around groups of them, and you can also use predefined keyboard hotkeys to quickly perform some actions. So Warcraft III doesn't reinvent the wheel.

  56. Crash Team Racing

is an adventure racing video game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation. It is basically played by four players. The goal of the game is to finish three laps and reach the finish line. The graphics and style of the game is similar to cartoon but still you can appreciate it. The concept of the game is very unique. The players should pass by the boxes so that they can get weapons and use it to attack and leave traps behind. There are also secret passage ways or shortcuts to pass through so that you can go ahead of your opponent. What's nice is that this crash team racing has a battle mode. Every each player should achieve to earn high attack points so that they can win the battle mode. This is one way to avoid frustration and boredom. It would rather give fun and excitement while they are defeating against each other. This game is definitely challenging because either the race mode or the battle mode has to win for the first place, second place and the third place. Obviously no one wants to be the fourth player or so called the loser of the game. I can say that this is a great game for people who wants to play with some of their friends even though it is an old game already.

The fourth entry in the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII. Crisis core takes place after the events of Before Crisis (an Action-Role-Playing game). This game's protagonist is Zack Fair a second-class Soldier. The game roams around in Zack Fair's life.

Crisis Core is both an action and turn-based RPG. The game's key feature is the Digital Mind Wave or the DMW. It is like a slot machine seen in the upper-left corner of the screen. Images of characters and numbers are continuously scrolling in each of the three slots consuming Soldier Points. This slot machine allows the player to level up, power up the materia and can summon and use special moves.

  59. TURBO

Turbo is a racing game that's very interesting because of the fact that you're not racing using cars but using snails. Yes a snail, and with that it already adds interest to the players. Besides the name and concept of the game Turbo is fun to play with because of the setting. It's not the ordinary racing tracks but carton race track. Your snail gets to race on that just like the usual snail race game. You race with an opponent, get into boost tracks, and even rails just for you to win.

That's how the game makes it for the players not to fall asleep, get bored or be frustrated. There are so many elements available in the game. If one cannot finish the said track you can do another challenge, you can change your snail, and when you collect enough money you can upgrade it as well. Through those simple elements available in Turbo it keeps the interest of the player which is a good thing. That's why for me Turbo game is a fun game to play with especially during your leisure time.

DJMax Portable 2 is basically a rythm game. It's like playing the classic internet game O2Jam. To me I never get tired of playing this game. I'd actually would love to play this 24/7. The reason is because, this game gives out an enjoyable aura. With a plethora of catchy music and colorful color palettes, this game would surely bring a ray of fun into your day. There's also the fact that this game becomes more and more challenging as you level up and the songs becomes harder, faster, and more "awesomer" compared to the beginner playlist. You could also costumize the interface to your own liking. You can make it look gothic, christmas like, horror, and many many more. I also forgot to mention that the Music videos are simply astonishing. They have like this story in them, and of course who doesn't like stories? Right? xD Not only that this game also has a multiplayer mode where you get to battle with your friends on who's better with who. I've tried it before and it was pretty intense considering the fact that the matches I play are ways a head to head battle. It's songs, gameplay, color palette, game design, and everything in it will surely make you play 24/7.

  61. Hidden Objects: Mystery Crimes is split into two main areas of play: hidden object scenes and investigative interludes. The former are the meat and potatoes of the game, so you'll spend a great deal of time here looking for items and admiring the luscious artwork. Between rounds you'll talk with persons of interest and manage forensics tasks, many of which include quick mini-games to spice up the gameplay with some variety.

Hidden object scenes are very basic, handing you a small list of items to find in a handful of cramped locations. Speed is important, as you get bonus multipliers for finding multiple objects in a row. The best tactic is to locate a couple of objects and then dart your finger around, scooping up the big points. You can also unleash bonus items like a combo booster, hint packs, and object previews, if you've got the gems to spare. Once you complete a stage you're awarded points based on your performance, and then it's back to the real detective work!

What helps you give hope is your teammates. They will help you either the are AI or real life people. There's this mod in Left 4 Dead 2: Last Man On Earth, wherein you're the ONLY survivor alive. It is very hope-degrading. So I guess, that's one of the factors that keeps you away from quitting.

  63. Lemonade Tycoon.

It's one of those games that I was really addicted to when I was younger and looking back, I don't know why I was. But nevertheless, It's a game that a lot of people actually enjoyed and had fun with, despite its inevitable monotonous gameplay.

Lemonade tycoon is kind of like Monopoly. The game doesn't become boring because it involves money. When a game involves money, you make sure that you have lots of it. You make sure that you're rich and successful. Once you are, it's not like you will forever be rich. There would be instances that would make sure you will lose your riches and therefore, that's what makes the game going.

At first, you don't know how to make lemonades. You would have to experiment with different combinations of sugar, ice, and lemons. After that first stage of failure, you become more determined to make your recipe better next time around. Sometimes, the temperature matters too, which adds a little challenge in the game.

Even though you think you mastered your recipe, there would be times where it doesn't suit your customers' taste. You change places and make your little shop have extravagant props and stuffs, and that's what makes you enjoy the game. You won't say to yourself, "ugh I won't play this anymore, it's the same thing everyday." but instead, "today I will make more money than usual and maybe I'd make my own lemonade stand in the future.".

  68. AUDITION

Audition is basically an online music and dancing game where you can practice your alertness skills and exercise your fingers, If you’re playing console games before, if my memory serves me right, the concept is more like dance revolution and Busta Groove, where you need to press the right arrow keys to hit the right notes before the 4th beat of every song.

Audition has many modes to choose from, dancing with couple, solo, as a team or with npc. You can also be able to search for your couple and marry them. And literally bear a wedding ring. I personally enjoyed playing audition, because of the modes that you can’t even imagine on a dance game, you can play beat up which is more closely related to dance revolution, where you must hit the correct arrow key. Certain moments or modes while playing allow you to "freestyle" your key inputs by pressing up to three keys of your choice. Nailing the 4th beat on every turn requires a good amount of timing (especially on songs with high beats-per-minute) and getting perfects multiple times in a row will earn you tons of points. There are several game modes and a fully fledged song list made up of popular titles to keep players entertained.

Overall, Audition's game play is a bit simple but exciting enough to keep you going. The community is decent and most players will enjoy dancing with you whether they win or lose. If dancing and music is your thing, you might want to consider signing up for Audition.

  69. Battle City

It's an old video game that allows two players to play simultaneously. This can be a lone player. However, this is more fun when you better play with a friend or two player games. Yet until now I don't get bored when I'm playing the Battle City. It always challenged me/us on how I/we will go through another stage. It doesn’t have a same situation or repetition I think that a player can memorize every moves of the enemy Tanks or the system if ever you’ll be game over on that level and play it again from the first level. This can be a test of how fast a player’s mind and eyes react. Plus, how long is your ‘patient’ into this game. And I/we always put the concentration and having fun at the same time, of course.

The ‘challenge or fun’ in the game: The game itself is a challenge for me because in this game, the player(s) should defend the base together and more fun of the so-called friendly fire. When one player shoots the other, the victim player would unable to move for a while but still can shoot. In this game, there is different level that would really challenge the player(s) because the map contains different types of terrain and obstacles. And every level up will have difficult stages, of course. About the enemy Tanks, there’ll be a more powerful Tanks in higher stages. So for the player to win this game, they must always get the stars that will lead them to a powerful Tank as well.

The ‘sound effect and music’ in the game: The sound effect and music of this game was made me to feel nervous and having fun at the same time. It also suit on the game. It sounds cute and it seems that the sounds are convincing you to end the game successfully.

The ‘skill’ in the game: In this game, I think for me, still need strategies on how the player(s) will work out together and defeat the entire enemy Tanks. The player(s) should have a fast eyes because in every level there are 20 enemy Tanks. But that 20 enemy Tanks will not pop out from their base together. It’s like 3 in a row first then after that one by one or maybe two to 3.

  70. I think would be a good example for this would be tekken. A simple mano-e-mano fighting game to the death.

this game involves a wide array of characters you can choose from depending on what style of player you are. it may be a man, woman, a bear, a kangaroo, a tree, a cyborg, an alien, or what ever character you can think of.

now tekken is a game wherein even a 5 year old could play this with his luck of button mashing or spamming. even with this very easy and simple gameplay, why do older and experienced gamers still play this? Simple, REVENGE!

it all starts with bragging about your skill in playing tekken to your friends and challenging them. you brag how you could easily beat them and you even bet on it. now one bravely accepts the challenge. With a twist of faith, you lose. Now comes the part wherein you want a rematch. You then do so and still got beaten now the cycle goes on. Whether he got beaten, he will also seek revenge and try to beat you.

Varieties of player's skills you may encounter can also be a reason why one keeps on playing. Without you challenging or fighting other players and knowing their skill level, you will not know the extent of skill you have.

To cut it short, a player continues to play due to pride in which he seeks by redeeming thyself in getting better each time he plays. Plus the fact that Tekken is a legend in fighting games makes it a game wherein the player will surely play over and over again.

The game is an 8-bit strategy game wherein you use different formations in order to defeat the enemy. They always have weekly events wherein you get limited fighters that you can use to improve your band or trade for other fighters. Top players would also get crowns to signify their dominance among millions of players. There is a PvP event wherein you battle with players from all over the world to reach the top rankings, a siege event where you team up with other players to siege the castle, dungeon events wherein specific fighters would be given an edge on a specific day, and Mob raid events wherein you are given a group each day and compete with other groups. Top players would receive better rewards or even special items that you can use to improve your band, trade for past fighters, or even fuse. What motivates the players are the prizes and the leaderboard wherein top players would get more.

  72. Flappy Bird

Flappy Bird is a single player game. The main objective of the game is to direct the bird between the pipes without bumping or falling otherwise it will end the game. The bird goes up everytime the player taps the screen and scores one each pipe that the player passes through. You will not get bored easily in this game because of the very interesting concept of the game. It is very hard to get a score, to balance the bird and to pass through the green pipes. Unlike the other games, it has only one life that is why when you bump or fall and fail to pass the pipes you die.
Visual sounds: for the music and sound effects, The SFX used when the bird passes through each pipe made it more enjoying because it just gives the player a feeling of achieveing something. To add, is the funny sound effect when the bird flaps, bumps or falls it made it more interesting like when you hear the failing sound it makes you want to press the replay button.
Challenge and fun: The challenge of the game is passing through the pipes and getting a high score. It was actually a tough challenge to get a 2 digit score. That is why the main goal is to get a high score and maybe brag them to your social networking sites buddies or by comparing them with your friend’s scores.
Skills: Your patience will be very tested in this game that will make you stay playing this yet irritated with the bird bumping to the pipes. Getting a high score and the frustrations passing through the pipes I guess would be your motivation in staying inside the game.

  73. Ironpants: It is somewhat similar to the game Flappy Bird but I think it is much more difficult. In it, you play a superhero that must fly through a series of crates. If you hit any of these objects, your run is over. This game is really tough, especially with the floaty control scheme. The first thing you'll need to do with a game such as this is get used to the control scheme. You hold your finger down on the screen to get Ironpants to fly upward, and remove it to have him fly downward. Don't fly too close to the ground, though, or he'll crash. It's important to find a tapping rhythm that keeps him soaring, but not to the point that you can't quickly change direction to get through the next section of crates. It is frustrating at first when you don't get how it works to pass the crates but as you play and play the game and got the right tapping rhythm for it to pass the crates it will be entertaining and addictive for you. Entertaining because whenever you're bored you can play the game and addictive because it makes you keep on beating your highscore.

  75. The game I’ll be using Ace Attorney as an example. The series falls under the visual novel category, although it focuses on both story and gameplay rather than the former as most visual novels tend to do. What makes this series entertaining is that it has diverse cast with unique characters in each case; a snarky protagonist, a quirky assistant, and a fun and entertaining interactions with all of them. The character designs, the punny names, and the amazingly animated sprites make it enjoyable aesthetically speaking. When it comes to the story, it doesn’t fall back either. Surprisingly, it has a pretty stable continuity, although there are some moments where the translation from Japanese to English kind of make everything confusing.

The series has its own moments of seriousness, but it never overshadows the quirky and hilarity that is a satirical take on Japan’s legal system. It makes law sound fun, for pete’s sake! The music is also catchy, the gameplay is fun and entertaining, especially when you hear that sweet, sweet sound of “OBJECTION!” when a witness slips up and makes a contradiction.

  77. Haunt the House

Haunt the House is a free indie game you can play online. It only requires one player or a lone player to control the character which is a ghost. Basically, your resting place has been disturbed by a bunch of humans looking to buy the very ground, so you have to use your ghostly powers to scare them away.
The main objective of this game is to scare off every single human around the mansion, however if you scare them too much, they kill themselves; Joining you in your resting place. Using the arrows keys, you control the ghost and move around the house. When you float over an object or furniture, you can possess them and use it to scare the humans. There are different objects to possess in each room so you can scare them in many ways. From floating objects to monsters coming out from furniture. There’s also a scare meter which accumulates when you scare people. The higher the meter, the scarier effects you can make.
Since you are tied down to the place, you cannot leave the mansion. But you can move from room to room by passing through the walls, ceilings, floors, etc. The people can’t see your ghostly form so you are required to use the objects around you to help scare them away. Once, you’ve successfully scared off every single one of them, them game ends and shows you the number of people you scared, as well as the number of those who turned to ghosts in the process.
This game may be very simple to play but the player will always see to it till the end. This is probably due to the fact that the way people get scared intensifies throughout the game. It doesn’t just show you the same old tricks over and over. Adding the scare meter is what made the game even more fun to play. Also, the player can still win the game even if some people die and become ghosts so it adds to the number of objectives you can think of for the game other than its main goal. Like, you can try to see how much people you can turn to ghosts. Not to mention, its graphics has eye-candy. So who wouldn’t want to try it out till the end?

  78. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
    Platform: Gameboy Advance
    Genre: RPG, Strategy, Adventure

SO what makes this game interesting and keeps the player in that so-called “flow”?
Well, I think, majority of it has to do with the story line. It’s about a group of friends who was transported to the fiction world of Ivalice. They become trapped into the world. The player has to find out what happened to his friends and how they can get back to their own world.
The player then becomes a part of a clan and he has to manage it. It means he can choose what their jobs will be, what armor and weapons they’ll use and what skills to learn. Because of this, I got hooked or rather attached to game more. Everything can be customized to a player’s liking.
Then there’s the battle system. It’s a turn-based system and it always reminds me of Chess and Games of the Generals. At first glance, it’s pretty complicated but I’m sure anyone can easily get the hang of it.
BASICALLY, this game has a good story and it makes the player feel like he/she is a part of it. It’s not too hard to play. Though, some can find this game boring especially if they don’t like strategies. Otherwise, I highly recommend this game.

You basically go all over the 'world' collecting starites to save your sister. From the start of the game you realize that there are no other instructions but "add adjective". At first, it may seem easy but you need to think of the proper adjectives to actually pass a level or task. An example would be going through a fire. You can't just place "get rid of fire". You actually have to think of things that could either turn out the fire or make yourself safe from the fire. A normal person would write probably "fire hose" or "bucket of water" or "fire hydrant" but a more creative person would probably write.. "tsunami" and it is very possible that a tsunami will suddenly pass your way. If it works, then great! If not, you have to try another adjective. Your choices are almost unlimited. You seem to have complete control over what to do but you need to think a lot more than basic adjectives and objects. The puzzles get harder at certain levels or points that you really have to strategize just to get through the game. It is a very replayable kind of game.

    BATMAN: Arkham Assylum

After a minute of playing this game I was already hooked into it because it's Batman (I'm a huge DC fan. LOL). To be honest, I only got hooked to it because it was a batman game but as I got further into the game it just got better and better. The story just got a lot more interesting. It was so good. I wouldn't be surprised though since the story was written by veteran Batman writer Paul Dini. Arkham Asylum is based on the long-running comic book mythos. In the game's main storyline, Batman's archenemy, the Joker, instigates an elaborate plot to seize control of Arkham Asylum and trap Batman inside with many of his incarcerated foes. With Joker threatening to detonate hidden bombs around fictional Gotham City, Batman is forced to fight his way through the asylum's inmates and put an end to the Joker's plans. Most of the game's leading characters are voiced by actors who have appeared in other media based on the DC Animated Universe; Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, and Arleen Sorkin reprised their roles as Batman, the Joker, and his sidekick Harley Quinn respectively. The game is presented from the third-person perspective with a primary focus on Batman's combat and stealth abilities, detective skills, and gadgets that can be used in combat and exploration.

So, to sum it all up, it was the story that got me hooked to the game and of course the fact that it's a Batman Game. If you're a fan of Batman and Video Games and you haven't played this game yet, then I suggest you do.

Just in case you weren't convinced and you still don't want to play it after reading all that, well then here's more. The game received critical acclaim, particularly for its narrative, and won several awards, including Best Action Adventure game, Best Game, and Game of the Year from different media outlets. It held the Guinness World Record for "Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever". A Game of the Year edition was released on March 26, 2010, and an OS X version was released in November 2011. Arkham Asylum's success launched a series of Batman: Arkham sequels, beginning in November 2011 with Batman: Arkham City.

    Guitar Hero II

Guitar Hero II is a game made by Harmonix for the Playstation 2. Guitar Hero II is like the game Dance,Dance Revolution, only difference is in the controls. Instead of using your feet, you get to use your hands and you get to use a guitar as a controller or just the the Playstation controller if got no guitar controller.

Guitar Hero II focuses on the players eye to hand coordination, because you must hit the notes on the same color, at the same time. Difficulty reaches from easy to expert. There is also a practice mode for the players who needs to get every song 5 stars.

Guitar Hero II consists of rock songs from famous rock artist, from Aerosmith to Gun's N Roses. It also makes you feel like a rockstar.

I for one begin to love rock songs because of the influence of Guitar Hero II. One might consider playing this awesome "rock n roll game"

This is a Simulation game which is made to help a friend on building her own restaurant. It focuses on your ability to keep the customers happy as fast as you can. Your patience will also be tested as you see the angry customers come out of the restaurant because of waiting for so long. To be able to clear the level, you must first reach the target points without losing a lot of customers.

I must admit, it is addicting especially when you want to clear the level without losing any customers; you have to be very attentive and patient.

Story: Tetriminos are game pieces shaped like tetrominoes, geometric shapes composed of four square blocks each. A random sequence of Tetriminos fall down the playing field (a rectangular vertical shaft, called the "well" or "matrix").

The game is so addictive because all the obstacles, all the tricky moments and all the Game Overs are caused by things the player has done over the course of the game. As you play, your past mistakes are constantly on display and this drives you on, to make amends and wipe the slate clean.

  85. Rhythmix

This game is played with an android phone or a iphone. In this game, you use your fingers to play and tap the corresponding button in which the line passes through. There are different buttons that you must tap. One of it is a button that you only need to tap once, and a button in which you'll have to hold it and another one is where you'll need to follow the path of that button along with the line. By the way, the line that I am talking about refers to the tempo of the song. You'll have to feel the beat of the song in order for you to enjoy the game and it will be easier if you know the beat.

For me, this game is addictive. Why? Because it feels good whenever you are able to finish one song. You can really feel the song while playing this. You won't be bored while playing this because first of all you need to be alert with the line as well as the button that you need to tap. I guess that's what makes a player play this game without getting bored.

BULLY SE really is one of their best games of Rockstar . Although I am a girl and the character of the game is a boy, it’s still doesn't matter because the features and the concept of the game is really good so you can still enjoy it. This game may be kind of old but it was a great game. The graphics may not be all that but the story line is the best the freedom you had is cool! you can go to other dorms, beat up people and be friend others, bully, this is where it’s at You can easily fall in love with characters and their personality's, but i feel like the combat system is sloppy but that’s how it is forever rockstar made game but this was still a great game to have. It has a Great music, nice storyline, humor isn't too over-the-top. You really get involved in the game world. The art direction is good and the atmosphere makes you feel like a kid again . It’s also a decently lengthy game. The game play is fun, though a bit wonky at times.

    Counter-Strike

Every round is another hope for the losing team to get back at the opposing team. The different strategy of both teams makes it harder every round. The excitement of knowing that a team can still win gets players hyped up, Making every round interesting.

"This is it, We're gonna win this time" is the motive each team says. another round is another chance. unless the opposing team already won too much then the game may start to get boring for the losing team. BUT if the losing teams gets an easy advantage, everything changes

There are certain mini stories too that would shock you and remind you that you have feelings despite your mass homicidal tendencies within the game.

You get to meet all kinds f NPCs from evil to good, from worth saving to scum of the wasteland. In addition, your father in the game is voiced by Liam Neeson. Who doesn't want to hear his voice saying you're his son/daughter? Won't it feel awesome to say 'LIAM NEESON IS MY FATHAAA!" ? c:

This game doesn't really have much goals. But i think that the main goal for this game is to satisfy your character's desire(s).

This game is fun and addicting because i like to build houses, and i like dressing up Barbie(s) when i was a kid. You won't get bored playing this because you can do whatever you like for your character and you get to build relationship with other characters, which are in the system. But i don't recommend it to kids 7 - 13 because there are certain times that your character would like to do something that shouldn't be seen by kids.

This game is played on an android phone or iphone. the game is played by pressing the buttons that are on the screen. there are only two buttons: the gas pedal and the brake pedal. the objective of the game is to get as far as possible in the stage. then you can upgrade your car's performance to further increase the chance of getting a high score by getting as far as possible in the stage.

This game is fun and addicting because you can buy up to 17 cars in the game and each car can be upgraded in terms of performance. and everytime you upgrade, there are changes like the car moves faster, bounces when it jumps from high cliffs, smokes, and engine sounds. you earn additional gold coins everytime you do an air time or back flip or flip. the longer your air time is, the higher your additional gold coins would be. and you can use it to unlock other stages, you can unlock up to 18 stages in the game. the motivation that i see in this game is that they always release a new car and a new stage in like every two months. and you'll never get bored of this game. i've been playing the game for almost a year and it never bored me.

  98. THE SIMS

The game can be played through PC or iOS devices. It is a strategic life simulation games. The game's concept is very appealing to the players. It allows us to create our own house, customize our character's looks and personality, and even their goals. It also allows us to customize our family.

It is indeed a very addictive game, because aside from it being very well-designed in terms of graphics, the way the character moves (which is really similar to how a real person actually moves) really adds appeal to the game-play, and even the goals and objectives of the game makes it even more fun! PLUS it allows you to express yourself by building your own house, and design your own character according to how you wanted it to be. You can customize almost everything in it. Playing it is like living in a virtual world, wherein, you can control everything you do and what you wanted to be.

  99. Subway Surfers

The main objective of this game is to score the most points. It is like temple run. It's an endless game and it is only a single player game. You just need to run and get coins, power ups and freebies while running. You can also jump and roll over. You can use these methods to avoid the obstacles. You can use different power ups but they will be limited only for a short time, so you must use it wisely. The game happens in a train railway, well something like that. The Resources that you can see in the game are the coins and powers ups like surf boards, jet pack, "Big boots" and treasures. When you use hoverboards (surf boards), you can atleast move faster. The jet pack will let you soar up high in the air and have an opportunity to get some coins above. The big boots will help you jump higher. And of course, the coins that you will get can be use to buy characters, and different styles of hoverboards. The game is over when your character bumped or tripped into obstacles. Definitely the conflict of the game is literally the obstacles. Example of an obstacle is the train that is coming towards you while you are running. You need to avoid this or else, a cop will caught you.

This is quite an addicting game because of its concept. And you will really enjoy this game because of the "excitement" that you will feel while you are playing this game.

The objective of the game is to pass through pipes as many as you can. It is like Flappy bird but it is 100x harder. It took me many times to try it again and again to just get through a pipe. It is so frustrating, more frustrating than flappy bird. I actually deleted it in my phone after minutes of trying and trying. I also ask my blockmates to try it and they have same feeling as me. They wanted to delete that game.

This game is so frustrating yet, so addictive. At first try, I'm lucky enough to pass through one pair of pipe accidentally. I thought its easy because I pass through those pipes without knowing what to do. Then the next try, I keep on saying "what?!" It's so hard to make 4pts. I'm so happy and contented when I reached 5 and then suddenly on twitter, I saw a tweet with a screen shot of his score, "21" pts. So I kept on playing and playing and trying and trying and falling and falling again but it doesn't matter anymore. It turned out that I just want to beat my own score even if it would take me million tries.

  102. Robocop for iOS

it is a first person shooter kind of game. you play as robocop, and just like in the movie or any other weapon before it comes out on public: it must be tested. the story is in order for you to be out in public you need to pass certain test. these tests comes with how fast you can neutralize hostiles and and be efficient with your weapon even if the enemy has more firepower.

actual gameplay: you dont actually run out of bullet. your guns just overheat. the more you upgrade the less time it takes to overheat, therefore becomes efficient. and when there are too many hostiles, there is a special ability that slows down time and you can point out each enemy making it one shot each for robocop.

the things that keep you going are:

each tier is packed up with new missions and simulations
example: for tier one it only has 3 sets of missions, then for tier 2 it has 4 sets of missions

energy level: you have 100% of energy each mission uses 10% of that energy and when you have consumed it, you have to wait 100 minutes in order for your full energy to be restored thus making you wait and not bored with the game.

last is, purchasing upgrades: it keeps you excited because as you purchase upgrades you actually are more privilege or more capable of playing a mission and having more chances of succeeding in it.
also, the higher your upgrade the more time it takes to complete: the maximum is 20mins per upgrade. this feature in my opinion is the one that actually helps you not be burnout or all bored with the game.

  103. Dark/Demon Souls (Playstation 3)

The Souls series for the PS3 were one of the hardest/frustrating games I have played on the PS3... And as if Demon Souls wasn't hard enough, they just had to make it even harder the second time around.

Now in this game, You would at least have to die 20 times in order for you to truly say that you really have played it. The enemies that you do battle with are as strong as you, and sometimes even stronger. I won't even mention how hard some of the boss battles are. So why do players still play the game even if the difficulty is hard to the point that it is frustrating?

For me, I think the main thing that keeps you staying in the game is the MUSIC.
The Original sound tracks that were used in the game were just amazing and pretty well suited for the atmosphere of the game. It makes you feel good about yourself.

The second one is the REVENGE. Well, revenge is sweet. They kill you, you kill them a hundred times.

And of course, the immersive lore also makes you want to explore the world no matter how hard it is.
