experimenting with Aesthetic Goals and Systems

Pick a game, identify and describe the core aesthetic goals and premise.

Now re-write the systems/rules of the game with different core aesthetic goals in mind. (Don't just buff/nerf the current systems while keeping the game essentially the same as before.)

Don't forget to explain how your new systems/rules will re-focus the game to the new core aesthetic goal.

Some examples:

Monopoly shall now be a co-op game about Mr and Mrs Dimayuga and their 6 kids staying out of debt! Have the 4 players be a team of 4, with different business and social skills, who win when the family stays alive, out of jail, and not bankrupt for 20 rounds! Obstacles include random tax hikes, mafia goons, typhoons, corrupt police, and inflation!

Left 4 dead is now all about zombie-themed music! A musical zombie apocalypse that uses rock&roll visuals and sounds as the cues of your impending doom! Much like what they did with the dark carnival finale, actually.

DotA is now a game that lasts only 30 seconds and needs only 1 button to play! A Rock-Paper-Scissors style 1vs1 turn-based battle on smartphones, poke your skill of choice to counter the enemy's own!

Flappy Bird is now a wide-open space about traveling the far reaches of the sky! A much bigger horizontal and vertical space for the bird to fly in, with all sorts of dangerous and friendly things to find! And you can't actually die here, just get a funny animation whenever you hit a dangerous object!

    My game of choice would have to be the online flash game "Happy Wheels"
    Now "Happy Wheels" is a fairly popular and known Abnegation game (particularly to YouTube Let's Players like PwediePie or MarkiplierGAME). It's free to play and easy use and the variety of features for players to use (ranging from creating your own level to the replay game function) makes the game simple yet interesting.

    If I were to rewrite "Happy Wheels" I would most direly changed it's Abnegation and Challenge on the negative side of changing a game. As mentioned, Happy Wheels is free to play, and usually Abnegation related games are quick download games (even Aps. from phones) or easy to access and play games that keep you occupied to a time being.
    If I were to change this negatively, I wouldn't make the game free to play. It would end up on Steam with a purchase tag. Another thing is Challenge, many players rate each level depending on its theme and challenge ability. Usually, the more challenging the higher the star rating. So, if each choices and levels were to be quick-easy play throughs which were as simple as simply clicking the left arrow button until the win, I believe this dramatically changes the game completely. Thus more or less, the Emotional and sense factor is diminished.

    On the other hand, If I were to change the game to add some spice into it and induce it's likability factor by 50% - I'd and some Competition and allow it to be a multiplayer game, therefore allowing the fellowship to exist. Happy Wheel has an array of characters to chose from and each with it's unique equipment and skills, so making Happy Wheel free to play, easy to access and multiplayer allowed would be phenomenal. Players can then create levels which involve a number of players, preferably 4-6 , and possibly turn it into either a racing game or survive until the finish. (Either that or last man standing like "Chivalry")
    And lastly, I would allow a character designing station where players can customize their characters for such events.

    Whether or not this still falls under Abnegation for Aesthetic Goals, I'm not so certain, but it possibly and surely has the factors to stay in place as such.

  2. Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening

    DMC3 is a hack and slash, mission based game, nearly each system has a score you have to beat to get a good rank on a mission, So I would guess Devil May Cry 3 is closer to a challenge game.

    Now, in DMC3 the player is placed in various sizes of area in the streets, towers/temples, to solve puzzles, and to mainly.... hack and slash demons.
    And how depending on how badass you kill the demons you get a stylish ranking, you get ranked from Dope!, Crazy!, Blast!, Alright!, Sweet!, SShowtime!, SSStylish. There are also items and a lot of weapons to help the player progress, but the player can only use 2 fire arms and 2 devil arms at a time and the player's also given a style system, where they can choose from various extra moves, like extra combos, or extra dodge movement. The only way to switch weapons and styles would be at the start of a mission, and the divinity statue. There's also a Devil Trigger where the player can boost his speed, attack, and have the ability to regenerate health, by temporarily transforming into a devil, and how the player will know how long the Devil trigger will last is placed on the health bar.

    So, I would rewrite the mission system, the style system, and the equipment changing.

    I would change the mission system to a straight story gameplay, then for the rankings it can be evaluated at the end of the game like resident evil 1 - 3. And just like the type writers in the resident evil series, DMC3 could use the Divinity statues as a save point.

    Then for the style system, I would change that the player can be able to change styles through the directional buttons like the change they did in DMC4, where the basic styles can be cycled through up,down left, right, and pressing the same style twice will change it to the special styles.

    Next, for the equipment changing, instead of looking for a divinity statue it will be on the pause menu, The player can equip a primary devil arm/fire arm and a sub devil arm/fire arm, so the player can easily cycle through the weapons he wants to use.

    With these changes, the gameplay would be more fluid. It might be considered to be more of a story, but it can still be called a challenge game because of the end game ranking.

  3. Jak 3 (Jak and Daxter series)

    Jak 3 is widely known way back 2005 and is popular on the ps2. It's an all out rpg game that lets you use an arsenal of weapons to defeat the metal heads that inhabit Haven City. To cut it short, Jak was banished from Haven city because of wrong allegations and now he has to retake haven city from the metal heads (large army of monstrous robots).

    The first thing I would change in the game is the single player only on story mode. The thing is, you have a friend with you in the whole story, daxter. So I was thinking more of a co-op thing where you could coordinate at certain points in the story. For example, a door closes and theres no way to open it, your friend/other player, using Daxter (small creature) could squeeze through tight opening and open the switch on the other side or when you go on a buggy kart battle against other players, one can maneuver the kart while the other one shoots off the opponents.

    Another thing I would like to change is the battle system. The original battle system was the basic hack and slash and dodge and then transform into a demon/monster whenever in a boss fight. I would want the battle system to have a bit of a kingdom hearts feel. I'd fill the boss battles up with a sort of mini game like in kingdom hearts, wherein whe you have an opportunity to strike, the screen shows you a button to press that engages the mini game system. It helps to add a cinematic view and could add a bit more intrigue to the whole battle system.

    The last thing I would want to change is the whole transformation of Jak into "evil Jak". When you transform, you just create a lot of damage on the opponents and it just eases up the gameplay a bit too much. I'd make his damage go down 1/2 of the one in the game. Mainly it's because, it would make it have more of a challenge and you can create more combo's. Having to battle against spawns mobbing robots, maybe a combo can reach up to a thousand instead of just have 30. And with evil jak's certain boost of speed, I'd bet it would be a lot more fun to chain combos other than just breaking through every mob of robots you come up against.

    So basically these are the little changes I would like to make. The game was great to play and had a challenge before ( I played it when I was 9). But I think when I play it today, the challenge wouldn't be much of a factor. So these are the changes I made to help level up the fun and challenge.

  4. Final Fantasy XIII

    Final Fantasy XIII is a RPG game that has been very popular in the year of 2009.It can only play on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. This game is about Lightning, the main protagonist, who's going to save her own sister ,Serah Farron, who has been captured by the fal'Cie. Not only Lightning will save her own sister,but also she was accompanied by Snow, Sazh, Vanille,Fang and Hope.

    On this gameplay just like I said, it's an RPG game that you can choose six characters as a leader and you only need two or three characters to be on your side if you're in battle against your enemies. It also collects any items that you can whether use, sell or upgrade before the battle starts. After you defeat your enemies, you will gain more points and "gils"(it can only be earned if you beat each bosses) like the game will give you five stars because you finished the battle less than a minute.It also have a shop if you want something on your items like potions, revival item and others unless if you earn "gils".

    There are three I want to change on this game:

    1) After the battle, I want to more gils after the battle. I got this problem that everytime in a normal battle, why can't I receive gils while in a boss battle you can only earn there.

    2) I want to switch characters while in a battle like I want to switch Lightning into Vanille so that I can heal Lightning and she will use her mellee attack through your enemy . It's hard to avoid that if you're the only one will die while your teams were healing you or distracting your enemy.

    3) The most problem that I had on this game is that when you die in the battle, the game will automatically be over. I want to change that if I die in the battle, I want to switch my team member to be as a leader. For example, if Lightning die I want to swtich Vanille to revive Lightning so that the game will flow.

    I'm not really bothered about the story because the story was good and a good "dramatic curve".

  5. My pick would be Minion Rush. It is a fun-packed endless running game or app featuring the characters of the movie, Despicable Me. In here, you will play the role of one of the lovable minions of Gru. Your mission is to run as far as you can in order to impress your boss and earn the elusive title called Minion of the Year and in order to achieve that, you need to be as extra careful as you are for there are different obstacles and opponents that you will encounter along the way.

    The basic format of Minion Rush is much the same as endless running games such as Temple Run and Subway Surfers. However, there's plenty of twists and features that makes this game more fun than the others.

    Basically, we all know that this game is under the category, abnegation and if given the chance to change it, I would make it a multi-player game wherein different players will choose a character from the movie (ex: Dave, Stuart, The Evil Minion, etc.) and they'll be competing with one another in a race. The players can distract one another while trying to avoid the obstacles that they will encounter throughout the race. I would also make it like a Mario Kart game wherein various power-up items can be obtained by running into the item boxes laid out on the course. With these changes being applied, I think the gameplay would be more fun and exciting than before.

  6. GAME: LIMBO

    Limbo is an puzzle game released in July 2010 exclusive to Xbox Live arcade and was developed then on to other platforms. It is 2D game which entitles your character to just go left and right. You have to pass each obstacle (obviously you have to solve the puzzle) or else you'll die from disastrous accidents such at being impaled, squished, hanged, cut into bits, etc. There are "enemies" in the game which makes the puzzle much harder to solve; the gigantic spider (asdfghkl), those evil kids, the black things that stick to you that limits your jumps, etc. Your goal here is to finish all the obstacles and find you missing sister.

    CHANGES:
    1. I want the character to have a weapon of some sort like a knife/gun/slingshot and use it to fight off the enemies in the game.
    2. Instead of a single player, why not make it a multiplayer? Including the little sister, with their goal to save themselves and get out of the forest together.
    3. Each level would have a boss you would fight with. Higher the level, the harder the boss would be.
    4. Each level would include hidden items you have to find and collect in order to defeat the boss.
    5. Experience points would be gained every time you kill/find/solve every enemy/item/puzzle.

  7. Imaginary Range is an interactive comic by Square Enix designed for iOS and Android. It follows the stories of Cid and Ciela. Their story is told in the form of comic strips. While reading, players can also look for "moogle" symbols and items, like the "IP" (Imagination Power). On some part of the comic, mini-game is required to go further in the story, it is usually connected to the current story. Mini-games can earn coins based on what score the player got.

    Change:
    1. Ciela's transformation is unlimited and random in every episode. She could be (catwoman, batgirl, Harley Quinn etc...)

    2. Their mini-games can include the Cid's PAD (Personal Alteration Device - that allows them to alter parts of the world they are in). They could go to other places (and see Chocobos).

    3. Still mini-games but about their pasts. This mini-game could be a puzzle game (literally pieces of puzzles) They can even include pieces of the puzzle in the comic.

  8. GAME: Attack on Titan tribute game for the anime.

    The Attack on titan game is game where you get to kill titans just like in the anime; with your 3D maneuver gear complete with gas, blades, etc. You can choose from a variety of characters in a cute, little chibi forms, and you can also be the Titan Eren and smash the titans as a titan yourself, though it wouldn't be as challenging as being a person.

    The thing about the game is that the titans aren't aware of you unless they see you, and the time they do, they will do their best to corner you and kill you: stomp on you, grab you and eat you then you're dead. No extra lives. No nothing. Also, once your gas supply depletes, you have to go to your starting point and refill it. Failing to do so would make everything hell of a lot worse.

    The game could be played alone or in a LAN where you can have your teammates to help you and plan a strategy to kill every titan. But still, once a character dies, they stay dead.

    The change that I want to do to this game is to make this a full-fledged rpg game, probably with a storyline that follows the story flow of the anime. By default, your character would be Eren Jaeger, the protagonist of the anime, and see everything in his perspective. Being him, you can change into a titan and fight titans.

    There will be missions that you need to accomplish in the game as part of the scouting legion. Since the story is pretty heavy, you need to discover things first that would lead you to the original ‘heavy’ story that’s in the anime and if not, you'll be stuck with completing missions. Or, you might not get the 'preferable' ending and just get a mildly disappointingly ending of your own. Though, the story won’t go astray because that would suck.

    This could be a one-player game or a-lot-of-a-player game via LAN but as the 'host' of the game, you will remain as Eren and the other players will just be your teammates to help you fight. But if you prefer to play alone, your teammates are also programmed to help you with your mission to fight.

    All in all, every aesthetic goal is pretty much in here.
    Sense/Emotion Pleasure – some of your teammates that you liked very much will die in missions and if that doesn’t make you emotional, I don’t know what will.

    Make-believe – You are Humanity’s Last Hope that people are afraid of because you’re the same as the monsters that you’re fighting humanity for. You are a strong-willed 15-year old with screaming as a way to convince people that you’re fighting for them, not fighting them.

    Storytelling/Narrative – as humanity’s last hope, you pledged to kill all the titans but it turns out you’re one of them. Can you really do it? Why are there titans? What is in the basement that your father left a key for it? Why is there a titan in the wall that’s protecting you from titans. What is the government hiding.

    Challenge – there are titans on your way to answer these questions and dying is not an option (though this time, you have a save, of course.) You can’t fight as a titan every time because you might go berserk and kill everyone in sight, failing your mission.

    Fellowship – you can’t survive alone in a war.
    Discovery – WHAT IS IN THE BASEMENT?

    Abnegation? Let me just wander off a forest and meet some titans and maybe hang out until they kill me and shower me with my own blood. Yeah that’d be nice.

  9. Game: Dead Rising

    Dead Rising is an open world survival horror video game. It is published and developed by Capcom. The game story is about a photojournalist trapped in a mall in a fictional town and your goal is to uncover the truth about the infestation. In the game you must defend yourself against zombies, rescue survivors. You can also customize and combine weapons here.

    CHANGES:
    1) Make-Believe - in the game you pose as a zombie survivor. What i want to do is to reverse that idea. Now you will play as the zombie, a special zombie who will spread the infection as much as possible before the army contains it,

    2) Storytelling - in the game the story is told when you play missions. Since i'm planning to change the character where you play as the zombie. The story will be told when you infect individuals you can hack into their minds and uncover the truth about your origins.

    3)Challenges - the new challenge would be how well you can spread the infection without using weapons and things. There were also police forces that will do anything to stop the infection but you will have abilities to help you on your way. The time would also be a challenge.

    4)Competition - you can compete with your friends by having the most infected. There will also be a game mode where you will kill each other with your zombie army.

  10. Mirrors Edge. You play as a courier delivering important secrets to the contacts. This game is a parkour game where you basically run around finding that one route that would lead you to the end of the level. During that time of finding the exit, the player meets obstacles such as police, and helicopters. The maps are bombarded with bright white buildings., the weapons are not the focus, and the game is more of the hand to hand combat.

    Changes:
    Sense/Emotion Pleasure:
    The game is set in a futuristic place where neon lights and techno music sorrounds the entirety of the maps

    Make-Believe:
    Instead of just running around as a courier avoiding enemies and parkouring obstacles. You are now an undercover hitman who's only goal is to earn money at first. In the long run, the things the character do becomes personal. He now becomes an undervocer assassin who's goal is to find out who sobataged his previous contract that ended him up in the hands of sinister men.

    Challenge:
    Instead of merely running around obstacles that only has one way. You are now given different options in killing/stalking/nuetralizing oponents. You can travel underground, the ground itself, or through rooftops and vents.

    Fellowship:
    Instead of working alone, the player meets different types of characters that have a specific type of skills. There's a sniper, assault, stealth, heavy, and an engineer that is able to create traps and small uav's that could be used in reconnaissance. This characters are now usable in multiplayer mode.

    Competition:
    There is now a multiplayer mode where players outwit each other in a very large map. Their goal is to capture the base or eliminate all of the opponents

    Discovery:
    The player will discover tons of different ways in killing their opponents. In the some paths that they take, upgrades, power ups, tools, and collectibles will be found.

  11. GAME: Fatal Frame 3: The Tormented

    Fatal frame is a game in which the player uses the vintage Camera Obscura to photograph and dispel ghosts. The player explores in third-person in either the Manor of Sleep or the real world. On the main screen is a "Ghost Filament", which indicates a ghost's presence; red signals a hostile ghost, while blue indicates a neutral ghost. At any point in the game, the player can enter first-person mode via the viewfinder, used for photographing ghosts. The Camera Obscura has a limited amount of film for ammunition, and the player must search areas thoroughly to obtain more.

    The aesthetics goals of this game are make-believe, story/narrative and discovery. This game is a make-believe game as it allows you to play as Rei Kurosawa, you can also make-believe you're a photographer. this game also has a story as it is an RPG game, the story revolves around an old Japanese manor-known as the manor of sleep- which appears in nightmares during heavy snowfalls, also known as a curse, and in this manor a lot of spirits appear, the only way to fend of these spirits is by taking a picture of them. The player must also discover the truth behind the curse and the mystery of the manor thus explaining the discovery goal of this game.

    CHANGES:

    Fellowship:
    -you can now play with a friend and help one another fend off and dispel the spirits, I will also add the option of using spell tags or seals to help dispel the spirits if you run out of film.

    Competition:
    - in addition to the co-op or fellowship goal, I will add a stage in which a lot of spirits will appear and each player must dispel as many spirits as they can in given time limit, the player with the most number of spirits dispelled wins.

    Discovery:
    - in addition to the current goal, you can now discover how the spirits died and help them pass on and in return they will give you hints of where to go or to hidden items in the game.

    Abnegation

    Zombie Carnaval, now called Zombie Tsunami. Zombie Tsunami is another runner game. What makes Zombie Carnaval worth a look is the main conceit of the game. You control a lone zombie running through the streets during a zombie apocalypse. While running, you’ll encounter hapless civilians just waiting for you to eat them. When you do, they’ll join you and you can ‘recruit’ more and more victims for your army of the undead to run around wreaking havoc throughout the city.
    The addition of multiple runners adds a new element to the event. Now instead of just one runner to watch out for, you’ve got to concern yourself with numerous characters and having more and more zombies makes the action move faster and makes avoiding obstacles that much more difficult. A larger mob can, however, make things easier by letting you turnover cars, buses and tanks, plow through bombs and collect more coins.

    Changes

    When you eat civilian you will grow and grow as the time you eat them. Or it can be your life. Instead of having a tons of zombies. And the power-ups like last chance, etc. instead of buying, you can get them while running. The gold, quarterback, tsunami etc. power-ups or whatever you call them, which are the thing you can buy in market and a mana. And when the civilians saw you, they can run. You have boost so you can catch them. You can use it if you have enough mana.

  13. Game: Half Minute Hero (Yuusha 30) / Half-Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Ultimate Boy

    Core Aesthetics Goal:

    >Challenge - Save the world... IN 30 SECONDS

    Someone has been giving the Evil Lords a spell that can end the world. Catch is that it takes 30 seconds to cast.
    As the Hero appointed(contracted) by the Time Goddess, you must travel the world, stop the Evil Lords that attempt to destroy the world, and find the source of the spell. To help mitigate the fact that the world ends in 30 seconds, the Time Goddess has offered(for a price) to reset time as long as you visit her statues in towns. Each reset increases in price considerably, requiring the player to wisely manage his funds as he also need to buy items, weapons and armor which may or may not be crucial in the current scenario.
    The game is divided per level, with an Evil Lord casting the destruction spell in each level. Naturally, the Evil Lords are strong, and the player must roam around the map to grind for levels. HOWEVER, due to the nature of the contract with the Time Goddess, the hero's level resets to level 1 after each level.

    There is also a Co-op/Competitive Multiplayer mode where two people both compete and cooperate at the same time in taking down the Evil Lord.


    Modified Aesthetics Goal:

    >Discovery
    >Sense/Emotion Pleasure

    Why not modify the time limit a bit and let the player do as he pleases and let him see all the interactions that he can find before he defeats a boss? And instead of being confined to a level, why not a vast, open world where the hero is free to explore the land, find weapons and armors needed to defeat the Evil Lords and marvel at the glorious detail (the one for PSP has an 8-bit graphics while the the one for XBox360 and PC have an anime style).

    Then it boils down to how fast can the player complete the level/game. Naturally this would make the game easy, so to balance things I'd like add/modify a few [SYSTEMS]


    Modified Systems:

    >Peacefulness meter - A full bar means that no Evil Lord dares to cast the destruction spell, nearly-empty/blinking red meter means that an Evil Lord is about to cast the spell. Meter can be increased by defeating Evil Lords. This gives the player the option to play classic (30 seconds to save the world) or neo (take your time) and anything in between.

    >Boss Fight - Some bosses require manipulating time in order to be defeated.

    >Simultaneous Destruction Spell - Sometimes, Evil Lords would cast the destruction spell at the same time, requiring the player to run up to one, beat the crap out of it and rush to the next one.

    >Time Reset - Should the player screw-up, the Time Goddess can just rewind time for them(still for a price) at the a same time. However, it increases the spawn rate of enemies on the field for a minute or so.

    >God(dess) Speed - players can request(for a price) an insane speed boost from the Time Goddess. However, the price of the speed boost increases with each use, thus must be used sparingly.

    My game of choice would be 2Fuse. 2Fuse is a delightful action game where you must match tiles to each other in order to build up the highest scoring combos. 2Fuse has you matching the tiles with the same colour and number to each other. Two ’1′ tiles put together give you a ’2′ tile, and two ’2′ tiles give you a Star tile. Matching two Star tiles together is the culmination of the combo. Each tile matchup clears one of the two tiles involved to make way for a new tile.
    Each tap in-game is accompanied by a little noise that rises in pitch as your movements get more frenetic. That was probably the best part of 2Fuse for me – the audio made the game. Upon the game’s end, you’re also treated to the sound of glass breaking. That was a little odd, but surprisingly not out of place.

    Basically, the whole game has the aesthetic goal of abnegation. But if I were to change the goal of the game, I would make it a Discovery. In each round that you accomplish, you unlock a certain item that you can use in your game (power-ups) like time-booster, a chest of coins, a special mastery tile containing 1,000 points. So, instead of buying it, you can just simply unlock them.

    Patintero is an outdoor game. In this game, there’s a two team. And there must be cooperation between the two team, the team guard and team passers with their own strategies or techniques. Team passers must have strategies together so that they won’t be eliminated and get through the lines without tagged by the team guard and get a point. Same goes to team guard, they must have also strategies so that the team passers cannot passed through lines and get eliminated. If one of the players of team passers has been tagged from one of the team guard, the game of groups will exchange places.

    Team passers will enter through the first guard freely. The first guard is not allowed to tag all the passers. Plus, passers are supposed to cross the lines from the starting point and back. And once one passer crosses the lines and gets back without being caught, the group gets a point. And guards must be positioned on the lines horizontally and tags a passer inside the square if she/he is within reach. Guards cannot step inside the squares. While passers, cannot stay inside the squares for more than 3 minutes or depends how many minutes a players arranged the time. So they have to try to cross the line.


    Changes
    Challenge and Competition:
    1.) No time limit for the passers inside the square.

    2.) From the starting line, passers can passed through the first guard by stepping first on the line (stepping on the line the guard can’t tag a passer) then must go inside the square (left or right square) as fast as she/he can without caught by the first guard. Plus, the first guard still can tag the passers passed through him/her when the passer is stepping inside the square not on the first line. However, the first guard must target a one passer (that still doesn’t go through the starting line) so that if one of the team passer (already passed the first guard) cross all the lines and just need to get through the last line which is the ever starting line, by that they can’t have a point. If that one passer gets through the last line and still there’s a left passer (which is the first guard target), they will be eliminated.
    **Note: First guard can still tag all the passers that stepping on the square and that is near him/her (guard).
    By that the first guard will get confused, he/she might focused by one of the passer, the left passer and the one passer that waiting for the left passer to go through the first guard. Still, it’s up to the first guard which she/he will focus on or might focus to the one passer that may be who will get a point. Then trap her/him. All in all, it’s upon the strategies of the two teams.

    3.) One guard allowed to position on the middle line vertically. That guard can move from the first T-line up to the back T-line vertically. So, there would be a two square in every stage-like.

    4.) When the passer passed all through the lines and just need to go back to the ever first line. That passer can’t go inside the square after the last line if she/he will not go through the last guard. Same goes to the starting line. The last guard can’t tag the passer if she/he still outside the box and when the passer is stepping on the line as well. For the passer to get through the last guard, she/he might move as fast as she/he can. Then when the passer has been cross the last line and now stepping inside the square, the last guard can still tag the passer.

  16. DJMax Technika is an arcade music game. You poke stuff on the screen, just like the usual rhythm games, you have to tap the circles(or whatever it is) as the bar passes by on the screen, pretending you're a DJ or something. I guess it would be more fun if it would be a two player game, rather letting your friend watch you while you're having fun.

    So, how? Since Technika's screen has 2 divisions, the other division of the screen will be played by your friend. (It would be fun if there's someone else to blame (in case you fail) jk) You and your friend will be facing each other, just like playing chess, but instead of a chessboard, it would be a touchscreen-thingy with large speakers. The game would also be extra funnn if there's a versus mode. You and your friend could play the same song and compare who has better rhythm skills (plus you can sabotage your friend by tapping his screen if he's not looking lol)

  17. My game of choice would be Gone Home. It's an exploration narrative game with the goal of finding out what happened to your family since they are not inside the house despite that you called. The main objective is to explore and read the bits of information inside the house, there's no enemy, no other characters present and no healthpoints.

    My changes would be with regards to the story, instead of being an empty house, a good change of pace would be a thief would break into the house and then you'd have to either find a working phone or find a gun that your dad might have hidden inside the house; all while avoiding the thief/s attention or if they see you, you'd have to flee to a different part of the house.

  18. The game I would choose is the Slender: the eight pages. Slenderman is a first person game wherein you find eight pieces of paper located in the forest while avoiding the Slenderman, a creature that is said to abduct people especially in dark places.

    The changes I would make would somehow be the opposite of the game. Instead of avoiding the Slenderman, the main character would be a Paranormal Investigator uncovering the truth about the Slenderman. You can use various gadgets and set up various equipment that would catch the Slenderman and trap him forever. Instead of collecting eight pages, you would have to get eight pieces of evidence that would help you track the movements of the Slenderman.

  19. Game: Ice Ice Water

    Basically, this game has Sense/Emotion Pleasure and Make-Believe as its aesthetic goals. In the case of sense/emotion pleasure, you get an adrenaline rush when you're right on the heel of the person you're going to tag or "turn into ice" (in the case of the IT) and when you're running like mad like the rest of the other players so the IT couldn't catch you and, if you got tagged, waiting in place, "frozen", for the other "unfrozen" players to touch you so you'd turn back to "water" and you can go run again. In make-believe, if you're the IT, you get to pretend you have ice powers that'll turn everyone you tag into ice. If you're one of those who aren't the IT, you get to pretend you have the power to turn every comrade back into water if they ever get caught by the IT.

    I'd like to change the systems/rules of the game by having Fellowship as an aesthetic goal. There will now be an equal number of ITs and non-ITS. So, if there are 10 players, 5 will be ITs and the other 5 will be non-ITs. The ITs will have to work together so they can tag all the non-ITs to "turn them into ice". The non-ITs will have to work together so not all of them will turn into ice, or else the game will end with them losing. This change in the game will make it less frustrating for the IT, because, in the original game, there is only one IT and many other non-ITs, and it's a lot easier on the non-IT's part to "unfreeze" his/her companions because they're many and the IT will have a hard time running after everyone, freeze them, and freeze again the unfrozen so that he/she can tag all the non-ITs and reset the game to have a new IT. Also, with the added number of ITs, this change can also make the game more fun and interesting.

    This game is originally played outdoors. It consists of 5-6 players and one of those players is going to be in the center of the circle protecting the tin can from the players who is going to try and take it down. If they succeed in taking it down, the "it" will be chasing them to replace his position while the players will try to get their slippers and if one of them was touched by the "it" he will be the next "it" .

    I would like to change the system/rules of the game. Instead of having only 1 "it", there will be 2 but the goal is still the same, the other players need to take down the two tin cans but at the same time they can already pick up their slippers if they planned it out without getting tagged by the two "its". They can also think of strategies on how will they be able to take down the two tin cans and if one of the tin cans was taken down the other "it" can help the other "it" in tagging the other players to replace their position as "it". With these changes, the game will be more challenging and fun

    it is a facebook app wherein you have to compete against different teams and be the champion..

    SENSE/EMOTION PLEASURE- that feeling when you have to press the space bar on time and then you didn't hit the ball, or when you hit the ball but the catcher from the opponent team got it, makes me want to punch the monitor of the computer.. but when in the moment of losing and you hit the ball and it's a home run and you won, feels like "I"M SO AWESOME"... and fabulous.. makes me want to take a picture of it and then post it on Facebook..

    MAKE BELIEVE- I get to be a baseball player..

    CHALLENGE- You have to focus when the ball is coming.. you must have the timing hitting it. decision making, when you have to think of what is better on the character by adding skill points on luck, power or contact..

    COMPETITION- you can fight against your friends online..

    EXPRESSION- you can choose what items your character will use, it shows what type of person you are and what's more important to you (luck, power or contact). you can design your own baseball field, etc,.

    DISCOVERY- discover different types of techniques the pitcher will use,different trainers etc.

    ABNEGATION- depending on the energy of the character, every game/match costs 5 energy points.. every special batter can be used twice and you have to wait for two hours to use them again..

    CHANGES: You can buy all items depending on your coins on the game of course.. You don't have to spend/waste your money in order to have those items that can be bought on cash..

    This is a another version of tag that everybody is aware of. Its both a challenge and a competition game.Its a challenge for the "it" to find everybody before they "sak" the "it". Its a competition among the players to be the one to tag one another.

    If I am to change the game instead of the players being "dead" if the "it" manages to get them (other players), they would be turned to another "it" to find the remaining players. The other players should be able to "sak" (sneak on the "its"back and say "sak" to the it who let his/her guard down) the "its" and turn them to their side once more. The team who has the most number of players at their side would be the winner. It would be like a divide and conquer thing which I think would be more fun and less frustrating.

In the day and age where people are pre occupied with their smartphones, it would be nice if people got a taste of a classic game and give it a modern type feel and cater to those who are fans of the franchise but also to casual people who just wanna whip out their phone and just tap tap tap.

    My pick would be Street Fighter II from the arcade systems. It has lots of colorful and memorable characters that would be fun to work around. I'm gonna change the game from a fighting game into a "get as far as you can by tapping the screen before you die" game. A "Blanka goes into its Donut form (you know, his special attack) and flies up in the air collecting lightning shards and smashing other Street Fighter characters in sight that try to stop him while he is in search of bananas". Pretty cool right? Right? Such storyline. Anyway, the main aesthetic goal of this game is in the form of "abnegation" - for players would basically play for high scores. But also get a chance to unlock other characters, stages, and outfits as a bonus. A simple game for the casual player.

    In this game, players assume the role of Blanka, the green creature with orange hair. He flies up in the air while being encountered by enemies. You can easily relate it to Zombie Tsunami or Super Jumping Finn, only better! You need to avoid the barrage of Street Fighter characters that want to take you down by tapping on the screen to control Blanka's direction. You only get 3 life points. 3 hits and game over. To avoid getting damaged you need to collect lightning shards that are scattered in the stage to strengthen your "defense points" and add speed for a limited time. Your defense points help to counter the enemies "attack points". When you have higher defense points then you will fend off the enemies' attacks, otherwise, you get a hit. The enemies attack points raise higher and higher as you progress through the level, so better grab on to those lightning shards!

The objective of the scenario is for each team to destroy the opponents' Ancient, heavily guarded structures at opposing corners of the map.     I’d like to change the heroes into power rangers and they can only get equipment on their opponents. And their opponents would be the avengers.

  25. For this definitely optional, non-required thread, I picked the super infamous game Minecraft which definitely has next-gen graphics and realistic physics and such.

    There are alot of aesthetic goals that this indie game had achieved, starting off from:
    MAKE-BELIEVE: Since it is in first-person mode, the character is, no doubt, you. And to add more personification, you get to customize your own skin, in which you will barely see but others will do see.
    DISCOVERY: The Minecraft world/map is infinite. Stuck in one island? Venture out like a pirate and discover new stuffs or stuffs you can't find in your place.
    CHALLENGE: Minecraft would be so dull if you will just build. That's why Notch made hostile, idle and friendly mobs. Creepers, Skeletons, Endermen, Cows & Pigs and such. It's fun to see AI. It feels like you are ot alone... virtually.
    FELLOWSHIP: As a neighbor from up top, you can play multiplayer with many friends without limits! Friends or randoms from internet. You guys can even turn on against each other or help build a community together!

    Temple Run is an endless running mobile game. The player takes the role of an explorer who is chased by demon monkeys after stealing an idol from a temple.

    I'd like to turn this simple game into an open world survival adventure. You're given a huge game map which you have to explore (meaning you can't view the whole of the actual map when you haven't discovered the entire place) and make your way out with the temple idol. The player will encounter (including but not limited to) the demon monkeys and other enemies on the way and they will be able to fight with objects they find that are passable as weapons. I would put an objective system that the player has to accomplish before proceeding. The goal isn't just getting out but finding the important items you misplace after your seemingly never ending run. You'll also be equipped with necessities like water, rations that can be used to sustain life and will eventually run out. There will be items that can be stored in the inventory as you explore the map.

    Left4Dead is a well known zombie first person shooter game by players.... If you are down and some of your friends are still alive, you can be easily revived by them so that you can heal yourself and heal yourself.

    I'd like to turn the game to an fps game but thee game is full of witches and you have to use stealth to avoid them (much like the game Last of Us). The teamwork of the game is still the same, however, if your teammates fail to revive you and you die... it does not end there. You will be revived, but only as the zombie... if you are tough enough, you get to level up until you become a witch and KILL DEM PLAYERS!!!

    Hatoful Boyfriend is not your ordinary dating game it is an indie dating sim game where your dates are all pigeons. One of the so called otome games where you can date guy characters but hatoful boyfriend have a different twist where you can date pigeon form characters. Hatoful boyfriend is also called a visual novel where you only clik and read the story at it progresses by. Unlike any other otome games with mini games or challenges this game has only the question type of game where you answer the questions written in a certain event that leads to your desired endings. The pseudo- human appearance of each pigeons only revealed once on the opening part of game. This game has also a unique background story of each characters.

    Changes:

    The only changes I desired are to transform the pigeons to its original pseudo-human appearance in the ending of the story. Add more interactive games like mini-games or puzzles. Have a book or log chart where you can identify what level of love as it goes by. Instead of only using pigeon pictures add sometimes the pseudo-human appearance of the pigeon characters with human voice in every conservation to add emotion on the game.

    I think the game would be more exciting if it can be like temple run. Earning money + adventure can add more fun in the game. By these, you can buy power ups and buy stuffs to customized the character and the kart to make it yours.

    Twisted Metal is now a racing game wherein the use of apocalyptic weapons are still sustained but are limited. The weapons are scattered around the racing route, some hidden, some exposed. Players are limited to the introductory vehicles (characters) and the rest are to be unlocked in the game's "story mode". In the game's story mode, there are about 8-10 (2 secret arenas/racing route) series of routes before reaching the final stage and each route has a "boss"; at each route, before reaching or racing with the boss, the player is required to race-to-kill the rest of its enemies. Note that to finish every route, the player is required to kill every enemy within the given laps. Failure to kill all the enemies within the given laps will result to a retry (the player is given 2 retries).

    Grand Theft Auto V is an open world, action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It was released on 17 September 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It is the fifteenth title in the Grand Theft Auto series, and the first main entry since Grand Theft Auto IV in 2008. Set within the fictional state of San Andreas, based on Southern California, Grand Theft Auto V's single-player story follows three criminals and their efforts to execute a number of heists while under pressure from government agencies. The game's use of open world design allows the player to freely roam the state's countryside and the city of Los Santos, based on Los Angeles.

    The changes I would like to improvise is the ability of the player to go to different places without glitches. So basically, the whole game is a giant map. Main city will be Los Santos, others are Las Venturas, San Fierro, Vice City, and of course Liberty City. The player can go to Las Venturas and San Fierro by vehicle or train. Definitely, Vice City and Liberty are way too far from Los Santos. To get there, the player can buy tickets from the airport and go to his/her destination of choice. Of course, airlines schedule are not all the time. There are times that flight schedules are not available just like in real life. Plus in different cities, there are mini missions you can do.

  32. Mystery Case Files: The Ravenhearst series

    These games are originally hidden-object games but my idea is to merge the entire trilogy into one story-based game. So you play as the detective who visits the Ravenhearst manor to solve the mysterious case surrounding it. You view your character in third person and move around to look for items which can help you solve the case. You can find items like journals which will unlock scenes where you relive the character portrayed in said journal. You can also choose your dialogue but your choices will not have a large affect in the game since it follows a main story. As you find more and more clues, you will be able to unlock new paths. Then, you start uncovering truths about what occurred in the manor which will lead you to stopping the mastermind’s evil plan in the end.

    A game played in a portable playstation. It is an action - rhythm video game. The concept of the game is played with several music’s to select and buttons to press for you to go with the beat of the song. It's somehow similar to guitar Hero. There are 4 kinds of mode to play the game, The 4, 5, 6 and 8 beat buttons. Every song that you play has a specific level of song that's why you could be playing a hard song, an average song or an easy song. You could also play it in a freestyle mode. What's good is that you could have a battle with another player who has a PSP also.

    While playing the game, you have a bar at the right side that increases whenever you make a continuous combo. Once you experience a combo breaker, the level of the song that you are playing while skips to the next level until it gets faster.

    What’s a good idea for a change of the game is that the you can play with a maximum of four players at least. Another good idea is that you can upload or download your own music that you like in the game and then you can choose that to play. It's like it going to have its own timing of beats with the buttons that you will press. It would be great also if you could use different kinds of instruments in the game and then you would still play with the beat that is moving down until it passes by the line where you would press it with the button to score up for the combo.

    A game played in PC's and game boy. To finish every level you must eat all the white dots and avoid the ghost that will eat you. But there will be white dots that is bigger than the normal ones, once you eat it you can also eat the ghost. In time there are fruits that will appear that gives bonus score when eaten.

    Aesthetic Goals:
    Sense/Emotion Pleasure: While I was playing this game even though its just a simple graphics but quite amazing and cute.
    Challenge: This is really a challenging game because there will be a time that the ghost will corner you or you'll press the wrong move.
    Expression: When the time comes that the ghost are near you you'll feel tense.

    Changes:
    -when pac man touches the ghost there will be a fight just like pokemon.
    -make pac man blow fire to kill ghosts from a far to avoid the fight.
    -there will be a specific color of dots , each specific color dots will be special skills like teleporting

    This game was developed by Julian Frost and Samuel Baird. The game invites players to avoid the dangerous activities engaged in by the various characters featured throughout the campaign. Within the app, players can also pledge to "not do dumb stuff around trains". The activities include things like getting toast out with a fork and poking a stick at a grizzly bear.
    Since the objective of this game is to avoid dangerous activities, I want this game to be multiplayer so that everyone would enjoy this game while paying attention. The second one, I would like to add more challenges like avoid to hit by a car, survive drowning, avoid a Dog Bite, etc.

    The almost Legendary mmo ,Prominent to online gaming, Ragnarok is still one of the best games that implements both Pvp, adventure, teamwork and trading.

    But with ZetaRO Private Server, and most other Private Servers, they added extreme usage of most of Ragnarok's killing feature. Over powered equipments/ 10+attacks per second attackspeed/ 1million Hp/ 100k damages per hit and such that makes the player know; That this isn't just about Ragnarok anymore

    It's about Killing Everyone.

    This experiment alone made by the Game Master of ZetaRO is already an absurd but fun result. But what if they implemented more Over powered shz with the Mobs and Bosses. What if they added them to the Rumble of Bloodthirsty players? Wouldn't it be nice?

    INJUSTICE: Gods Among Us (the dating game)

    I choose to take INJUSTICE and turn it into a dating simulator. Wherein you can pick from the character selection screen. It could be any character either superhero or villain. Instead of fighting with each other they are going to have lovely/hot-steamy conversations that you can choose the dialogue for.

    The main objective is to be in a relationship with someone and if you play your cards right you can even take things into a more intimate level.

    The rules are simple, do whatever it takes to make the person like you or not it's totally up to you. Basically do whatever it takes to get laid. Sometimes if you date somebody, people will hate you for it and it would decrease your chances for you to date those who hate you.

    You can travel to different places. You can interact with everybody and engage in a romantic relationship regardless of the gender or whether or not if he's a superhero or a villain. However, some characters are not in favor of a superhero-villain relationship but you can still make friends with them and that's it.

    Every character has heart points and you need to accumulate enough heart points to be able to have a relationship with somebody. You can earn heart points buy talking to them, saying things they like, giving them stuff they like, or helping them.


    Here's a list of couples that are unlikely but it'd be interesting to see it happening:
    - Batman and Joker
    - Wonder Woman and Halk Girl
    - Green Lantern and Solomon Grundy
    - Joker and Batgirl
    - Catwoman and General Zod
    - Sinistro and Cyborg
    - Green Arrow and Killer Frost
    - Harley Quinn and Shazam

    Anyways, there would a lot of unlikely couples to happen if this game were to exist.

    Chess is now a Massive Multiplayer Online Game wherein you control the Pawns,Rook,Knight,Bishop,Queen and King.
    You get to costumize them and upgrade their weapons, buy power-ups and also top - up some E-coins.

    In the original game the pawns must eat the opponents chess piece side ways, while in this version the pawn must defeat the opponents life points first before defeating it. You can also choose your kind of pawns, it can be a sniper, a wizard, or a medic.

    The MMO version of the Rook automatically destroys the all the chess pieces unless the pawn has set traps to the Rook and any other higher pieces except for the King.

    The knight in this version serves as a carrier of items, such items include the heal potions, the increase in power and defense. The knight can also attack other pieces with the use of his sword.

    The Bishop in this version instead of moving sideways, its attacks is sideways only using his staff to cast different types of elements such as earth,fire,water, electricity. The Bishop can only move one box per move.

    The queen on the hand, still gets too move in different directions. The queen also serves as the right hand of the king in which you can't attack the king unless the queen has been defeated. The queen also needs a lot of upgrades in order for it to withstand the attacks of the other chess pieces.

    The King is the most powerful and fragile of them all, it also get the ability to ressurect one of the dead pawns in the match.

    Imagine the devastation on both team as they must fight for the sake of one's kingdom.

    An outdoor/indoor game which is consists of at least 6-10 players each team. The goal of this game is for the playing team to pass the other team which is stopping them by simply blocking them and swaying their hands until they tag their opponents. But, they must be able to manage their movements on the given boundary lines. The blocking team must stay on the line while struggling to tag their opponents. As well as the playing team, they must also stay on the given space for them because when a player accidentally stepped or literally went out of the line, they’re dead and it’ll be the other team’s time to play.

    Since this game’s rule doesn't require time limit, I would like to add time limit to it. 3 minutes for each team to play will be good. I would like to add a time limit because sometimes when the blocking team is too good on offense, the playing team is taking too long to score. It would also add more adrenaline rush to the players. If they’re not able to score within 3 minutes, the team will now be the blocking team for two times. Also, I think it would be fun if the tagged team mate of the playing team will leave the game until his team scores then, he can go back to the game.

  40. Running through spooky environments infested with zombies is a bad idea, but what if it were the only means of escape? That's the premise behind PikPok's gruesome iPhone and iPad title, Into the Dead. Delightfully addictive, this endless running adventure tasks players with steering a lone and unnamed survivor through a handful of locations filled with flesh eating freaks, where the goal is to survive as long as possible to post the best time on the leaderboard. Wander too close to a rotting corpse, and you receive a gruesome scene of the creature taking multiple bites from its latest victim, complete with nasty chewing noises.

    If I were to re-write this game the goal would not only be escaping from the zombie but finding a cure; so this game will have stages and mission, the player won’t be running and avoiding the dead. Every mission he fulfills he will find a companion that we’ll help in the game, let’s say he will find 4 in total. And of course every stage we’ll be a lot harder than the other, there will be new zombie character, hybrids an etc.
    And because of the companions of the game I will also change the point of view; from first person to third person view.

    Basically this game, you only win by winning a race in a specific route or race track. On every race track, there are different kinds of possibilities wherein the player or character you are using will be weakened or in other words has a weakness on the specific stage. On that weakness, you can have a disadvantage unless you know how to avoid in getting affected for you to lose on that stage. In this game, you have a power ups or something you can use to win the race because on every race track, you can get something called a mystery box. For you to get that mystery box, all you have to do is pass through it then that's the time you can that specific power up to use against your opponent.

    Changes:

    I think in every stage, as I mentioned that some characters in a specific stage has a weakness. For me, with the character that a weakness on that stage should at least an advantage as well, wherein that character get at least a bit stronger power ups every time the player gets a mystery box and i might add a faster vehicle than the other characters.

  42. Let me use Max Payne (THE WHOLE SERIES)

    Through the years Max Payne gained so much critical praise for it's unique style of narration (Storytelling) and gameplay (Challenge) with visual effects and battle features.

    If I were to change something from it, maybe I'll add more DISCOVERY into it. I know that once it turned to open-world it will turn into another GTA ripoff. But it won't hurt to add a little bit of freedom on what Max wants to shoot to pieces. And I don't actually want it to be a GTA-like open world but instead an Assassin's Creed-like open world.

    I chose this game because this is an awesome game there you will kill monsters and make an armor out of it and the advantages of this game is your thinking will boost and your strategy as well, the disadvantages of this game is a pretty hard for players who will play this game.

    Changes for this game, I think they should change is the difficulties there you can choose from easy, normal, hard.

    And They should put an HP labels on monster for the players, to check how many Hp left from that monster.

    and that reminded me of a manga.
    SO what if you get 40 players from every where and you kill each other to the death till only one gets left.
    with 40 players and with the battle royale kind of thing going on.
    Except it's almost sandbox gameplay and you can rummage through abandoned shacks and have the actual collar system that if you're in that certain area at that certain time your collar slits your throat. but not remove the zombies because that's the whole essence of the game and to add more challenge. c:

  46. Plants VS. Zombies

    We all know this game's goal is to keep your house safe from the zombies by placing zombie-killing plants in the garden.

    The things I would like to change to the game is that the player can have the ability to choose sides (zombies or the plants) because if there is, it would be also cool to play as the zombies by placing them just as what you do with the plants. Just like the plants side, you need to place sunflower to the garden to produce sunlight which is the thing that gives you supplies which kinda unlocks different plants types to place in you garden but while in the zombie mode you have to place a telephone-zombie who will call random human, then you'll have to click every humans appear on the screen so you can have more different types of zombie supplies. If you defeated the plants and one of your zombies got in to the house then you win!

  49. Six degrees of sabotage

    In the original game, you try to find the people who's been relaying a bomb from one group to another. What if this time, you're the person passing on the bomb to the other group, trying to find a way so that you won't be caught by the hidden cameras? You'll be the villain now, instead of the hero. This would be more story based, unlike the original game where you just have to do what you've been told.

    You get six levels, each one you're a different person. Each person has their own disadvantages (e.g. a broken leg, prosthetic arm, very colorful frills, high-heels, slow movements, etc...) When passing on the bomb, you get to talk to the people you're passing the bomb to. You need to find that one person, based on their response, on who you're supposed to give it to, or else you'll fail. At this part, you'll see why they have a reason to support bombing and, at the same time, be able to see if their actions were justifiable. You can quit any time, and betray your fellow comrades.

    The sixth level is where the bomb explodes and you run for your life. You hide behind innocents while the gun shoots over your head and try to avoid dying as much as you can. You can't see the sharp-shooter, but you get glimpses of people around you getting killed, giving you hints on where he might be and more chances to avoid him. After the fifth bullet has been shot, you're safe. This is what I think the game could be after playing it from the villain's side of the game.

    The purpose of this game is to break out of the rooms. Solve the puzzles and find all the hidden objects that you have to use in the rooms in order to advance to the next floor.

    Changes:

    You were trapped inside a haunted building and you need to escape before a powerful evil spirit haunts you down and traps you forever. Every floor, you need to find objects and weapons that will help you exterminate ghouls and beastly creatures. Also, every time you pass every floor you'll get a hint and you'll also realize that all of that was just a nightmare.

    Super mario bros. was developed and released for the Family computer/ NES (8-bit video game console) on 1985. The objective of this game is to survive and save princess toadstool from bowser's castle with the limited time on each world.

    Changing the game, well TURN THE WHOLE SYSTEM AND GAMEPLAY OF SUPER MARIO BROS.!!!!! the objective? is to take back princess toadstool to murder her. (changing the story, mario is will kill princess toadstool for her selfishness which made his family suffer). Then the gameplay, sure we are used to collecting coins, getting 1up mushrooms,stomping on bad mushrooms, avoiding pits, chasing the starman for invincibility, and more, So I thought why not turn all the good stuffs into bad, and bad into good! wherein coins are bad, starman is bad, 1up are bad, bad mushrooms are good, Koopa Troopa is good, can be your teammate, something like that.

    Players will be sooooooo much confused, challenged, and be pissed because their minds were used to the original version of Super Mario Bros. LOL XD HAVE FUN KIDS >:))))

You can enhance your pokemon's stats with battle points. If you want to evolve your pokemon, there will be an item that can evolve a pokemon though you'll need to buy that certain item in a high price.

  53. I'll be using a dating game called Hatoful Boyfriend. Now, the game is actually about uh, you know, dating pigeons. It's a parody and stuff. BUT, I must add, it's quite in depth. And in one ending you cannibalize a pigeon and the culprit kills you. Oh, and the heroine is a test subject to see if humans and pigeons co-exist. If the girl doesn't end up with a bird to romance with? She and every other humans will be exterminated.

    This is how I start to differ the aesthetic goals. The game itself has a pretty solid story of how pigeons took over the world and how humans became extinct. I want to push away the romance and dating to focus on this background. In a Dystopian world for humans; based more on story and character interaction than romance.

    The main character is a sole human girl living in a world run by pigeons. How does she deal with all of the mania? The discrimination? The isolation that she is a sole human in a school of birds?

    As the birds are quite intelligent, I assume that most of them will more likely taunt her for being different; for being a human. Only a handful are genuinely nice, some hiding it than the others. There may be a romance, but the game will focus on her survival. In game canon, she's dumb but she's strong. How about adding scenes where she tries to escape pursuers or bullies? Or to fight from the crazed school doctor who made you eat your friend? If she *did* do that, how will she cope? Will it cause her to question morality?

    And if the higher up tries to kill her, there's be a pretty epic scene where she tries to escape. And it'll all be in first-person.

    From dating sim to a sort of post-apocalyptic survival.

  54. Game: Harvest Moon "Tales of Two Towns"

    This game revolves around two towns. One is named Konohana; where in this town they focuses more on growing crops while the other is named as Blue bell; where in this town focuses more on livestock's. When the game begin after its intro has begun you are given the freedom to chose between the two towns although, every end of the month you may switch towns.

    In this game I would like to change the following:
    One, At the start of the game Instead of choosing your own town. The game would randomly put you in one of the towns given that you may not switch towns after you have been placed.
    Two, When it comes to money, it would be easier. By allowing to sell anything found around.
    Three, Added extra events about memorization or Q&A. Example, Q&A questions regarding what the game thought you.
    Four, When it comes to courtships, the person your courting in game makes you do crazy requests like collecting 50 roses and by this the friendship meters grow multiple times higher than regular requests.

    A single change in the game can make the WHOLE game change completely. Remove one or add one, it basically changes everything that there to the game.

    An action adventure game made by EA, its movements is inspired by Parkour. Its main character Faith, is running across the city buildings, jumping through walls to reach its certain point and by avoiding her enemies along the way.

    I like to change in this game is on how she reacts towards her enemies, instead of just leaping and sliding through her enemies I would like it to have a battle system more like of a tekken style for each enemy she will encounter along the way and I also like to add bosses that will challenge her into parkour...Much like of a freestyle (like tony hawk's pro skate) and for every style Faith (your character) will make is an equivalent points and you need to get a higher points so you can defeat the bosses.

  56. Elevator Action for the family computer

    Elevator action is an example of a game that uses the "wash and rinse" formula; finish the stage and proceed to the other level with the same layout but with harder enemies.

    The thing I want to change is that on earlier stages the building have the same layouts but when you reach a certain level, the building layout will become random, enemies will be harder and the player will not have enough ammo ( the original game has unlimited ammo // so that players will not shoot the nights out). In compensation the game will throw save points but will offer one life only.

    For the story, what if the building the player wants to infiltrate is guarded by the good guys and to protect the residents. The player is the bad guy who just want to wreck havoc in a peaceful building (war freak).

    This game will have various of levels and will only have 2 limited lives but will have an add-on extra tools to be helped for the player. And it will have a multi-player that will challenge one another until they meet the final level of the game;the more pets they save, the easy they go the next level. Levels include from easiest to the hardest level which makes the player feel challenging. On the last 3 stages of the game, the pets would evolve into something different that would give a twist of the game.

    The game is played with equal pieces for both players. With good tactics and strategy, one player can easily eat all the pieces of the other players. and the only chance the losing player can have a good chance of winning is getting a pawn to the other side of the board.

    To change the game, what if the pieces have powers or effects. for example, the queen can capture the opponent's rook under specific circumstances. Or designated effects when eaten by the opponent.

    It would be totally different for there.

    Make the bound system optional. In tekken 6 Bound System is implemented. There are certain moves that makes the bound effect on a juggled opponent that makes the juggle longer.

    Some fans hated that some fans loved it. I think It would be better if you make it optional like it can be toggled on or off in the options or settings. It would please everyone

    The game will appeal to both old and new fans of tekken, especially those who despise the bound system and those who loved the new game mechanic. Players that like the long combos can enjoy the bound system and those "old school" players can play it without bound which pretty much brings up the nostalgia of the old system

    In addition to this, Tekken Revolution, the latest iteration of the Tekken series removed the bound system, which appealed to players who were long time tekken fans (those who started playing even before tekken 6)

    The game is played by two player basically you cant see the others pieces, as you have an arbiter for that its basically it is a rank based game the higher ranks can eat lower rank pieces except for spy because it basically eat high rank pieces except the private.

    To change the game, will add another piece called the Blank piece its basically a decoy the difference is that this piece can be name as a bluff piece so that the opponent can either eat it or fall for your bluff as the arbiter is the only one who can see your pieces.

    This game is now a trending game all over the world. The game is now unavailable to download because of some issues. The game is frustrating but addicting because if you beat your high score, you'll now have the courage to do another round and try to beat your high score AGAIN.

    Changes:

    I would like the game to have more system other that the tubes. Maybe add an object that will distract the player or make the tubes move up and down. Or maybe you could choose what color you like for the character to make it more interesting :)

    Thing I want to change in this game is it's rule. Game of SKATE is their popular rule. Instead of completing the SKATE word, why not when you do the opponent's trick correctly you will have 3 tries bonus it is useful if the trick is a bit difficult to do.

    Game of the Generals is an is an educational wargame invented in the Philippines . It can be played within twenty to thirty minutes. It is designed for two players, each controlling an army, and a neutral arbiter or an adjutant. It needs the use of logic. The game simulates armies at war trying to outflank and outmaneuver each other.

    I would like to change the player system of the game. Instead of 1 vs 1, i think its better if it would be 4 to 6 players. then they could play it like 3 vs 3, 2 vs 2, free for all or they could team up with each other to defeat a single opponent. then i would add a time limit to each player's turn. a 2-3 minute time limit would be nice so that the players would not spend too much time to think of their next move. i would also add additional pieces: the medic and the monk. the medic could revive the piece that was taken out of the game. the twist of it would be, the medic needs to reach the place where the piece was last moved to before it can revive the piece. the monk could convert the enemy's piece into his own side. its like convincing the opponent's piece to fight for you. but a twist of it, the piece that was being converted to can accept or decline the conversion with a use of toss coin. heads would be accept and tails would be decline. and any piece is allowed to kill these two additional pieces. another thing that i would add is obstacles in the board. and these obstacles are scattered across the field. it could be used as a cover so that the opposing piece would need to go around the obstacle before they can take out the piece in front of them.

    The game is single-player only and it is downloadable that can be played anywhere even in cellphones. The game is about zombies who are running and collecting brains, to be able to survive there should be at least one zombie left. There are also power-ups that can be used to easily collect zombies and money and keep away from the bombs and cars.

    To change the game I will lessen the power-ups to make it more challenging and as the game goes by the zombies will run faster and faster. I will also change the sound, when the background change the music will also change to make the player feel the game.

    It is a single player game. The only thing you need to do is to avoid the Pipes. The bird must fly in between two pipes. Each pair of pipes is equal to 1 point, and that's going to be your score. When you bump to pipe, the game is over.

    If I'm going to change this game, it will be a multiplayer and single-player game. I'll make it an online game. So that, it will have an opponents, atleast 2-3 players. All they have to do is to race. This time, Flappy Bird is no more an endless game, it will have different levels, and each level has its own difficulty level. So, the 2 or 3 players will play, they will race till the finish line, but not only that.. There will be some coins or stuffs that they can get while flying. When they get those stuffs, it will be added to their score. When their opponents bump to pipes, definitely they are eliminated. There will be also power-ups to help them to reach the end line faster.

    In terms of Sound effects, since I'm quite evil (haha), I'll put some annoying sound effects on the game. Especially when they are on the climax of the game. :D

    The game is composed by 2 players. There are two sides of the game. It makes you believe that you are it a war in which you are fighting with the opposing side to protect your people, base and specially your flag.

    The game also sets up challenge between both of the players. It is a competition of knowing where is the flag of your opponent and moving your flag to the other side of the board without letting you flag captured by your opponent.

    It also make fellowship. You can play this with your 2 friends. One is your opponent and the other one is the arbiter. 3 players in a board game is very rare.

    If I am going to change this, I want the flag to be already shown and it is fixed in the center. The challenge here is to protect your flag from your opponent before they get with your flag. You should arrange your pieces strategically.

    It is a single player game. All you need to do is to tap those blocks with same colors and numbers. There are blocks with color blue others are red and green. the number are 1 and 2. if you match blocks with same colors and number 2, one block will become a star.

    Changes:
    If I am to put some changes to this game I will make it a two player game and if one of them matches a star their opponent will will have a block that can't or does not change when you tap. It will give your opponent the disadvantage of matching more blocks.

  70. The Monster Hunter Series

    Basically, Monster Hunter is a co-op game with a limit of 4 players max.
    The player/s goal is to complete quests in order to become the greatest monster hunter in the world. Quests can vary from harvesting plants to killing 100 ton monsters. There's a farm system, training system, arena system, and ofcourse the crafting system. The game focuses more on the co-op gameplay side of the game.

    Changes

    Monster Hunter has always been well-known for its fun and competetive co-op mode, but the price of paid for this was a lacking singe-player mode.

    Story-Driven Single Player Mode

    In this new feature, the co-op mode would now be the secondary element of the game thus bringing new life to the game. Capcom has pretty much mastered the co-op feature of the game anyway so I am pretty sure the co-op mode would still be the same quality even if they focus in single-player mode.

    Imagine yourself actually having a purpose in killing those poor wyverns you slay other than money.

    Live Open-world

    Since the main focus is now the single-player gameplay, a fully alive and lush open-world monster hunter isn't that farfetched. You would actually feel the anticipation of going to the lair of Rathalos or EVEN BETTER, it'll ransack the village you are currently in while you're just leisurely upgrading your armor.

    My Favorite series of Final Fantasy because of its Blitzball minigame on it and also in customizing your weapon. It is a Role-playing game and it is he most HD in its time.

    Things I want to change:

    Making this game from PS2 or PS3 to PC game so that it will only require a LAN connection to meet up.

    I want to change the this RPG game to Multiplayer so that when I battlescene they can control their favorite character and also in Blitzball a maximum of 6 player can communicate.

    In Blitzball when shooting the player should have a combo before the timer runs out or else it will catch by the Goalie and also in attacking the other player it requires a exact timing of press the button so that you can knock out the opponent and have a tag team assault when getting the ball.

    If this happen a lot of PC gamers will play and having fun on this game.

    A beat em up game made my Rocksteady where the players take control of the Iconic caped crusader, the game has numerous gameplay elements like the freeflow fighting mechanic in which it introduces smooth combo moves, another one is batmans detective mode in which he can set up crime scenes, and the gliding mechanic making freeroaming much faster.

    For the only thing that I like to change is the ability to make decisions, it would be cool to see batman in a certain condition where he is forced to choose. I think it would add alot of layers to a character as dead and complicated as batman

    A platformer/shooting game or also known as run and gun types of game. Graphics and gameplay is a very simple and old style pixelated side scroller game wherein the main plot is you're team defeating the main bad guy and saving the world. It focuses more on a sense/emotional pleasure as it's aesthetic goal. It executes this by giving the players a very fast linear gameplay in which in only one hit you die. You are also handed different types of weapons you can pick up giving a more exciting feel. To add to that is atmosphere and music.

    now the change i want to make is that the graphics would basically shift into a "bastion" perspective of view and look so it would still fit for it's genre. also to change into it's goal is by adding a sense of make believe wherein character customization is now available. Also it has a different ways you can approach a certain situation. it would also be better if it would be a narrative sort of game wherein the main focus is the story. basically it's a vast action adventure horror game with freedom of choices now but still have the feel of metal slug in it. only now with a more eerie tone and atmosphere. This gives more of a complicated and more memorable storyline of game which most people would surely love to play.

    A third person game that let's you fight zombies and monsters in order to survive and escape the nightmare of Raccoon city. You'll have guns and weapons to kill them, and you can collect items that would keep you alive such as first aid spray, green/blue/red herb and the things that would help you to escape such as door/gate keys, the valve handle, and many other.

    Since this game is all about killing zombies and monsters and escaping. Why don't we change the system of the game? Instead of killing zombies or monsters, you will be the one to keep the zombies or monsters alive. Or let just put it up this way, instead of being a police represent, you will be the one to control the zombies and monsters and your main mission is to elimiminate all the remaning survivors and conquer the whole town with the power of the T virus. Well of course it's up to you what strategy to use in order for you to kill one person or character in the game. With this kind of game, a lot of people would be curious and out of their curiousity, they'll surely try to play this game. This game will be a challenge to the ones who used to play the original game system of the Resident Evil.

    Tap Tap Revenge is a music game created by Nate True, and developed and published by Tapulous for the iOS in July 2008. It is the first game in Tapulous' Tap Tap series. The goal of this game is to tap all the colored balls once it reaches the line located at the bottom of the screen, (It would not be hard for you to play this game if you are following the rhythm of the song) and if you hit it perfectly, you'll get high points. If you weren't able to press any ball from that line, it counts as a miss. The player can choose what difficulty they want to experience. Most of the songs have "shakes" that requires the players to literally move or shake the device. You can also play with a friend as well by playing the 2-player mode.

    Changes:
    First of all, I would like to remove the "shake" system because some of the devices are sensitive. I would also like to change how the balls fall. They fall simultaneously with any beat from the music. I would like to categorize and split all the beats are there in a song. For example, the player must finish first the vocals so he could switch to another category (bass, drums, keyboard, etc).
